Reynaldo Galeano Sanchez, 25, is on the ground after he lost both of his hands when about two kilograms (four pounds) of powder or fireworks he was handling went off in the stands in Esteli, about 100 kilometers (60 miles) north of the capital Managua, Nicaragua Sunday, April 25, 2004. Two children were among 16 people injured in a fireworks explosion during celebrations for Real Esteli's national soccer championship, officials said on Monday April 26, 2004. Boy, this guy took his fireworks seriously. Used a car battery to light them off. In retrospect, it makes my M80s I used to buy as a kid look pretty harmless(although a few frogs would beg to differ--I hope PETA ain't reading this).

I don't need to look to caption that.

Yes, the battery is very interesting. So are the sports bottle in his lap and the socked feet. Maybe the person who gave him the drink also took off his shoes and told him to start practicing now.

Reminds me of an accident around these parts last summer. Some nitwit built a tennis ball cannon for the 4th of July. It blew up and a chunk of metal piping caught a little girl right between the eyes. Some people don't know when to control their inner redneck.
