Pinch would not know the meaning of "personal repsonsibility" if slapped in the face (saying "pinched him" would have been too easy).

Sulzberger also revealed that the worst thing to come out of the Blair scandal was not the former reporter's ethical crimes, but the fact that sources and readers who knew about the incorrect reporting did not complain because they believed that that was what newspapers did. "That is scary," he said.

Well, Pinchy boy, that is exaxtly what YOUR newspaper did. And does, I might add. Those people were right.

This is a remarkable confession, thought Pinch is much too stupid to realize it. The tacit admission is that liberal editors are unable to distinguish between facts and lies . That is because they themselves peddle a world of make-believe every day. They threw out all the old rules of journalism to do it.

A few days ago, USA Today editor Karen Jurgensen abruptly resigned (i.e., she got fired) for failing to detect Jack Kelley's long career of lies, plagiarisms and phony quotations. Hal Ritter, managing editor of the paper's news section, also resigned in a hurry. USA Today is the biggest newspaper in the country, yet the editors let a hoaxer run loose for more than ten years. Never suspected a thing.

Nowadays you can't find a journalism school that still teaches the rules of journalistic integrity. They are all liberal "activists" now, shaping stories to their political view. Where reporters of other eras dug out the facts and kept their views to themselves, today's media people are in show biz. They stage stories, they make up scripts, they steal material, they fake quotations, and most of all, they preach their left-wing politics.

If you have a taste for reality and truth, there IS relief -- just avoid the liberal news media and stick to Free Republic :-)

Just a manifestation of the defining characteristics of "modern" journalism: laziness and sloppiness. Can't be bothered to check whether or not what they're printing is true. Just go with it if it fits the agenda and "feels good". That's easier than doing any actual work, getting in there and digging out the truth. Heaven forbid, that might actually uncover something that runs counter than what the PC police would have us believe. Can't have that...

°Sulzberger [said] the worst thing to come out of the Blair scandal was 'readers who knew about the incorrect reporting did not complain.'"

I distinctly remember Brit Hume lighting up the NYT several times on air over Blair's false reporting in the weeks before it was discovered.

Guess Pinch was too busy watching CNNPMSNBCCBSABCNBC, which in turn is too busy reproducing the NYT's stories.

Excellent!

This elitist Lunatic Lib is now blaming the Readers of the NY Slimes for him allowing the druggie/pervert to lie in his articles.

When will he blame GW?

We would got the same responses from the Slimes that we got over the years re the lies printed in USA Lies Today!

I gave up sending USA LIES Today emails complaining about their lies re Clinton in 1992. Then I tried again during the Monica Licking Fiasco, and was ignored and eventually blocked from sending emails about their lies in that mess.

The classic sign of a true mentally ill person is the attempt to blame the innocent and those who supported them for the mentally ill behavior of the lunatic.

Pinch is a classic mentally ill member of the Elitist Lunatic Left.

I'm surprised that he hasn't blamed Jim Robinson and Jim's Lap Dog Bushbots for the problems of the NY Slimes.

That will come with the obligatory blaming GW for the lies published each day since GW announced that he was running back in 2000.

When will Pinch wakeup to the new reality?

FR has more to say in the scheme of things than Pinch and the NYT can fathom.

Should he choose to do so, Jim can give Pinch some good advice.

"Pinch, first they have to get past FR."

A few years ago, the newspaper for which I write hired a brand new J-school graduate, who barely could write his own name, let alone a coherent news story. After a few months, the editors realized that 1) his J-school degree was worthless, and 2) he could not be turned into a writer, no matter how much coaching and instruction they provided. He took their advice to find another job. (At last report, he was working at a rental car agency in Reno, Nevada).

It seems to me he should have given Pinch a call, instead.
