Peacekeeping force planned for Africa

The Pentagon and State Department are planning to set up a 75,000-member international peacekeeping force for Africa, senior Bush administration officials told Congress yesterday.

Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz and Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage disclosed the plan during a hearing of the House Appropriations subcommittee on foreign operations.

I do have to question whether the Bush foreign policy is now all that great. His domestic policies sure ain't. Ed Gillespie said it all, just slightly less liberal than the Democrats.

Department of Redundancy Department ping. Isn't peacekeeping supposed to be the domain and charter of the UN?

This just strikes me as a super bad idea.
