In an interview set to hit newsstands next week, prospective first lady Teresa Heinz Kerry reveals that after she became pregnant at age 45 she decided to have an abortion.
"Twenty years ago, Heinz Kerry says she became pregnant, and, upon learning she was carrying a fetus that would be born severely deformed, made an appointment to end the pregnancy," People magazine reports in its upcoming May 10 issue.

Oh no, I was not talking to you. Please forgive my if I
intimated that. I am so happy that you would take that baby!
To: cyncooper
We were not discussing your terminally ill fetus, child. I meant no insult.I was talking about Mrs. Ketsup. Please do not take insult where none was meant.
To: Mo1
Thanks for correctly my pitiful math.

The pregnancy was during her marriage to John Heinz.

I too made the same decision against amnio at the same age for the same reasons. And this was after already having a child that was "extra special"... there are those of us to whom every new life is sacred.

Heinz Kerry is a Roman Catholic who says she attends church regularly. So can I call myself a vegetarian if I eat steak but go to PETA meetings afterwards?
Finally! Someone has made the perfect analogy.

Thank YOU mountaintop!
It was a pleasure to meet you and your lovely wife, and ALWAYS a joy to share my conviction that the Lord is working through George W. Bush.
One of the most important things he has done, IMO, is to begin to return America to being a culture of life........where every human being has value..........even those who are less than 'perfect.'

Hmmm....a few days ago she said she believed that abortion "takes a life", and that if her 13 year old daughter got herself drunk and pregnant, she'd be very upset over it. No mention of this, nor did Theresa specifically say exactly WHAT she would do if her 13 year old daughter got herself drunk and pregnant....this story is suspect. Has the ring of Hanoi John's medals stories.

What a joke this woman is, she will discuss something this personal, ie the loss of a child, but not release her tax returns. What an idiot. I would never have an abortion under any circumstances, and I would never vote for any pro-abortion candidate, so this isn't changing my vote at all, only reaffirming it.

Who the heck are you to judge Isn't that a pro-choice position? "I'm against abortion personally, but who am I to judge what choices other women make?"
45 year old women can take precautions to guarantee they won't become pregnant, if it is their intent to abort the child.
To: TeleStraightShooter
Exactly. . .if she was going to kill the baby anyway what's the big deal if the baby miscarried or it was aborted. Result is the same.
Something isn't right, or maybe she DOES know killing babies is wrong and didn't want that on her conscience.
To: wingnuts'nbolts
I was talking about Mrs. Ketsup. So was I.
To: annyokie
Do you have any idea how many people would gladly take your severely deformed baby and love and care for him or her?
"Please don't kill the child. I want the child. Please give me the child. I am willing to accept any child who would be aborted, and to give that child to a married couple who will love the child, and be loved by the child. From our children's home in Calcutta alone, we have saved over 3,000 children from abortions. These children have brought such love and joy to their adopting parents, and have grown up so full of love and joy!" ~~Mother Teresa~~

Something isn't right, or maybe she DOES know killing babies is wrong and didn't want that on her conscience.I hope you you right, but I think just the opposite. She thinks having an abortion is some badge of honor and is trying to gain credit for being a feminist hero for having considered it.
This shows how, in her circle, having an abortion is wholly conceived as an honor to the aborted woman:

Why the hell does she even get pregnant at age 45 anyway? My mother had twins at the age of 43, giving my parents a nice big family of nine children. She and my father wanted and loved each and every one of us.

Yeah, maybe you are right.
I envison pro-abortion types and those that have had abortion justifying their actions by saying to God, "Ya see, God, the Supreme Court said. . ."
Like THAT'S gonna go over well.
Cheers.

That child is now 17, brilliant, beautiful and the best thing that ever happened to us (other than the other 3, of course!).One of my brothers used to say "You're my favorite sister (or brother, aunt, uncle, etc.) for your age and size." :o)
