In an interview set to hit newsstands next week, prospective first lady Teresa Heinz Kerry reveals that after she became pregnant at age 45 she decided to have an abortion.

"Twenty years ago, Heinz Kerry says she became pregnant, and, upon learning she was carrying a fetus that would be born severely deformed, made an appointment to end the pregnancy," People magazine reports in its upcoming May 10 issue.

"So can I call myself a vegetarian if I eat steak but go to PETA meetings afterwards?" Such deceitful duplicity is only allowed to the blind-partisan democrats, especially voting Catholic democrats. The rest of us are held to the gospel by the demented left.

I know you didn't pose this to me, but my answer is "yes!"

shs ALSO said she believed that abortion was "the stopping of life...", which makes it, of course, murder.

Well yes, but don't forget, she was AGAINST abortion BEFORE she was for it!

I don't know if PBS realized it - but it produced an excellent 1-hour 'commercial'

John Heinz died in 1991..........

She was pregnant out of wedlock if I am not mistaken.

Wonder who the father was?

I'm 42 and I had to have an ultrasound for some other issues last week. I was double ovulating. If I try to get pregnant, I would have fraternal twins.

Scary since I already have identical twins.

I get pregnant very easily. I've had several miscarriages because of low progesterone. But every time I tried, I got pregnant the first month. I was between the ages of 30-34 when I got pregnant 5 times.

Post-menapausal women still have occasional periods for the last of the eggs to flow through. If they have periods after they are gone, they need a procedure done. The vaginal walls deteriorate in strength, you know.

Utterly shameless. John Heinz died in 1991, so she would have been married to him at the time. What gall it takes for her to use their most private decision in a political campaign for her new husband. I'm speechless.

(Of course, perhaps I shouldn't assume Mr. Heinz was consulted in the matter.)

Please understand, when a woman is 45 she is looking at the smokey candle ends of her life. I had my last at 38 nd it was the pregnancy from hell plus 10 days in the NICU and a nearly $1M insurance bill.

I have friends who have had normal pregnancies after 40 but that is not the norm, according to my doc. I spent every week (36 of them since little junior came early and was only stopped with magnesium from coming earlier) making visits to the high-risk pregnancy doc for ultra-sounds where I would hear scary things like "it looks like a genome problem." (cysts in the brain and certain death some hours after birth.) Then I'd go home and look up the genome problem in my genetics textbook and then call the doc and then sweat about whether I should tell my husband. Then I'd find out it was nothing to worry about the next week.

A serverally deformed baby, I don't know the details, for someone of my circumstances, would, after much prayer, have to go since I am not a healthy person and can't buy/don't qualify for enough insurance nor live long enough to care for a child who is severely handicapped.

Certainly this is not Teresa's problem.

Have the baby, love it, and raise it! God helps us take care of the things we need to if we trust Him to be there to help us get through it!

Oh--that's right--I forgot that Heinz must have been the father. OK, I don't have sympathy for Kerry anymore. Just for her.

I'm hoping you weren't implying that I'm one of those who can't be inconvenienced! I'd take that baby (it's more than a fetus to me) any day of the week!

According to your description I would NEVER consider you a "deformed" person. Under "deformed" I understand conditions like Trisomy 18 or Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome).

BTW, I was also born one month premature.

Well, it's pretty weird that Laura Bush accidently killed someone with her car, too. I don't know that this miscarriage or planned abortion makes Teresa weird. But other things about her do ("I wash my own hair. . . ")
