They're still doing dry runs on the planes, to see what weapons they can slip thru.

I remember an incident sometime after the Oklahoma City bombings, when I was helping a gentleman at the counter where I worked at my federal workplace, and another gentleman came in pushing a push cart, and he said to me, "I'm going to leave this here while I go to the bathroom." The other guy and I almost jumped out of the room in fear. I told the pushcart person, "No you won't leave that here, you'll take it with you."

Honestly, living where I do, I've long ago gotten used to SWAT cops and FRB cops literally running around with *really* big guns.

One would think that the FBI could close those cells. Sure they may or may not be getting info through them, but you'd think rounding up all those involved would eliminte a great deal of the threat.

Better start exporting the muslims NOW.

Unfortunately as far as immigration and border control goes, this is the 12th year of the Clinton administration.

Not only is Bush not going to deport the muslim aliens that pose such a clear and present danger, he's actually importing about 100,000 new alien muslims yearly as legal green-carded immigrants.

There is not the slightest doubt that al Queda is in the US and is researching, probing, and preparing for attack.

Dry runs is probable but we should also be aware that this could be a distration from something else that's very big.

My concern is the suitcases.

It seems there's a message in this choice. Is the message "suitcase" nukes? They just as easily could have left bags or boxes, or other objects. This one's spooky.

Could be two things (among others I guess).

1) They're idiots. They don't put anything in the suitcases so nothing can be 'traced". Don't plan on the cops figuring it out. Idiots like Reid the shoe bomber who uses matches instead of a lighter to try to light his shoe.

2) They're terrorists. The publicity of a rash of empty suitcases gets people jumpy and puts a strain on cops, overtime, etc. Then, plant the real suitcase bombs somehere else. Or, if you're cocky and/or suicide bomber, go back to Penn Station or wherever.

Go back to DU, why don't you. I think you fit better over there.

As you said/quoted -

"They did the same thing before 9/11 doing dry runs on the planes..
Excellent observation."

Geez louise, as they say. That's about the dumbest thing I ever heard in my life!!!!!

FormerACLUmember!!!! A dry run of a plane bomb. Get your butt back over to DU; you sure don't belong here.

The good folks up to Maine need to make sure that SOB of a governor never gets reelected. He ain't fit to work as a dang toilet attendant.

"I" sure didn't vote for him! I've had run-ins with him over the past 10 years when he was a Senator.

I can't believe he flim-flamed the people in this state enough to get elected Governnor. I guess the majority in Maine just love being miserable. Oh well.........

Wish we could do to Baldacci what California did to Davis:

A new book by an FBI consultant on international terrorism says Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida terrorist network purchased 20 suitcase nuclear weapons from former KGB agents in 1998 for $30 million.

The book,"Al Qaeda: Brotherhood of Terror," by Paul L. Williams, also says this deal was one of at least three in the last decade in which al-Qaida purchased small nuclear weapons or weapons-grade nuclear uranium.

Williams says bin Laden's search for nuclear weapons began in 1988 when he hired a team of five nuclear scientists from Turkmenistan. These were former employees at the atomic reactor in Iraq before it was destroyed by Israel, Williams says. The team's project was the development of a nuclear reactor that could be used "to transform a very small amount of material that could be placed in a package smaller than a backpack."
