I sure would like to know the scale of the blasts: Grenades? Car Bombs? Truck Bombs?
"Blast" isn't really much help.

Time to just have the olympics at salt lake city. It's pretty damn obvious that America is the only country that can handle the security.

BOMB BLASTS IN ATHENS
Three bomb blasts have hit the Greek capital Athens, Reuters news agency has quoted the country's police as saying.
Concerns over the level of security in the city, which is hosting this year's Olympics, have been growing recently.
More follows...

Doesn't mean that this a terror attack. Every once in a while in slightly dangerous European capitals like Rome and Athens explosives go off but there's nothing to them. A few months ago I remember a suitcase went off in a garbage can in Rome.

Creat conditions so athletes and teams don't want to go.
Cancellations could have a snowball effect.
Worst Case - Cancel the Olympics.

Those Quakers seem to be on edge lately.
Don't be so quick to rule them out.
To: swarthyguy
but then the Islamic countries would miss out on all those medals

Was looking forward to wall to wall coverage. Last time I paid attention to the summer Olympics was when NBC did a pay per view Olympics that I didn't purchase.
The Salt Lake Olympics had decent opening and closing ceremonies and LOTS OF SECURITY. I think Dubya and Laura were there.

The Greek government is behind it - they're not ready for the Olympics, and want to get things canceled, so they're ginning up terror threat...[/tinfoil hat]

That wouldn't put NBC out of business, would it? Talk about silver linings ;-)

Blasts apparently at a police station. No word on casualties.
My guess, is that this is probably one of the leftist domestic groups.

Unless I miss something, when did car bombing become an Olympic sport?
