Dick Morris Reveals Whitewater Secret in New Book
Newsmax ^ | 5-4-04 | Carl Limbacher

Posted on 05/04/2004 7:48:58 PM PDT by truthandlife

In his new book "Rewriting History," longtime aide to Bill and Hillary Clinton, Dick Morris reveals that he's guarded a secret about the Whitewater scandal for nearly a decade that could have led to Clinton's removal from office.

"What I was not talking about and have not for eight years is an incident that took place in 1996," he told Fox News Channel's "Hannity & Colmes" on Tuesday.

Morris alleged that Clinton improperly influenced U.S. District Court Judge Henry Woods to dismiss Whitewater charges against then-Arkansas Gov. Jim Guy Tucker, who had threatened to go public about Hillary's involvement in the fraudulent Castle Grande land deal.

After Clinton Attorney General Janet Reno ruled that Starr had jurisdiction over Tucker's involvement in Whitewater, Tucker was "furious," said Morris.

Using Morris as a go-between, Tucker sent a warning: "Tell the president that if that SOB wants to play the game this way, I know all about the IDC," the formal business name for Castle Grande.

When Morris passed on the threat to Clinton, "he turned white as a sheet."

"Clinton sat down, put his head in his hands and said, 'Oh my God, do you know what he means?"

Morris said he replied, "No, but I think you know what he means."

Later that night, Morris said Clinton told him, "I took care of that problem today." Three weeks later Judge Woods tossed out the Tucker indictment.

Though the case was later reinstated, Tucker never followed through on his threat, which, according to Morris, could have precipitated perjury and fraud charges against Hillary.

I wouldn't put it past Morris to have some cooperative marketing deal with Slick, where he makes these allegations to hype his book, then Slick gets to hype his with his responce. Then they both sit back and count the green.
Pardon me while I vomit.

I've never liked Clinton, but does anyone else believe that Dick Morris is really credible?

OK, IDC stands for what?

Limbacher undershot the mark. IDC is the Arkansas Industrial Development Corporation -- and the scandal was far bigger than Castle Grande (which was only one of its component scandals).

The IDC issued development bonds, which were brokered thru a Clinton crony (since indicted and imprisoned for drug-dealing and white slavery) and used to fund fraudulent schemes and, at the same time, launder drug money.

Yes, there is a Mena connection...

Hey Ken, I remember that back in the early days on FR -- when was it, exactly? Laz is ever a hoot owl of lucidity.

Your post made me think of something. I originally thought that Clinton was asking a rhetorical question in horror, but he was probably ascertaining what Morris knew and who he might have told.

You're right -- that was the best answer he could have given.

When Morris was on Hannity and Colmbs awhile back, he said his new book would counter all the lies Hillary told in her book.

>> If Dickie Morris had come out with it back then, it might have made a little difference. But more likely he would have wound up in a cell with Webb Hubbell.

Both Vince Foster and Ron Brown -- according to plausible legends -- threatened to reveal information damaging to the Clintons. Both died mysteriously in a matter of days.

Come to think of it, even when Webb Hubbell was in prison, he made a big point of declaring he wouldn't talk. So did Susan MacDougal.

Respectfully disagree about being eight years too late. No matter what Clinton did, the RAT bastards would never, never have voted to convict in the senate. At least he may help us stop Hillary.

I may be wrong, but I think I've read that Morris had a religious
conversion of sorts.Maybe he's trying to atone for his involvement
with the clinton syndicate.

I find it hard to believe anything Morris says. He's just a dude that never got enough attention when he was a kid....so he'd make up stories. I can't imagine anyone trusting him with "secrets". Bet he doesn't have many friends.
