A Wretched New Picture Of America. (And it's wretched 5th column/4th Estate)

Among the corrosive lies a nation at war tells itself is that the glory -- the lofty goals announced beforehand, the victories, the liberation of the oppressed -- belongs to the country as a whole; but the failure -- the accidents, the uncounted civilian dead, the crimes and atrocities -- is always exceptional. Noble goals flow naturally from a noble people; the occasional act of barbarity is always the work of individuals, unaccountable, confusing and indigestible to the national conscience.
This kind of thinking was widely in evidence among military and political leaders after the emergence of pictures documenting American abuse of Iraqi prisoners in Abu Ghraib prison. These photographs do not capture the soul of America, they argued. They are aberrant.

So according to Phillip Kennicott all of us are personally responsible for Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse committed by US MPs and contractors. While I believe those indicated in the rather thorough and scathing internal report released by The Army need to improve their PT scores by breaking lots of rocks at Ft. Leavanworth, I find Mr. Kennicott's conclusions philosophically flawed and personally obnoxious.
If we're all responsible for these atrocities, how can he live with himslef for not leaving the US immediately? I'd love to limo his sorry a-- over to Dulles and fork over for his one-way ticket.
Kennicott reminds me of another American who played the deeply saddened by America at war routine. Played it into a political career, a Senate seat and eventually a Presidential nomination.
This article is a profound disgrace. Nearly as much of a disgrace against our country as the tortures that took place at Abu Ghraib Prison.

For libs, a few naked Iraqi prisoners in a human pyramid is a "crime, atrocity and confusing and indigestible to the national conscience."
However, millions of aborted babies don't even merit a yawn or a debate.

Noble goals flow naturally from a noble people; the occasional act of barbarity is always the work of individuals, unaccountable, confusing and indigestible to the national conscience. Which sounds a lot like: "Socialism is the best politicial system. It is perfect. It has noble goals. The fact that it has not been properly implemented so far, is not a reflection of any failing within the ideology itself. It is merely a reflection that the implementers made mistakes. Now, the current Political Vanguard, pledges to do it right ..."
Only the Left really thinks like this. The Christian West has always been willing to accept the imperfect nature of humans. We tend to take responsibility for our errors. The Left never does.

I guess those dumb jock MPs forgot to call the Iraqi POWs fetuses first. Then could have lined them up against a wall and machine gunned them.

This could be why, elections aside, some on the left view this as a larger indictment of Bush than it actually is. The inability to separate individual flaws from societal norms comes from the leftist philosophical subsumption of the individual.

This writer is delusional. The FACT that bad things sometimes happen in war is stated and restated by Americans, and yes, these are aberrations.
What a self-loathing twit.

Fight Back - Get This Out! A WND investigation has revealed that most of the photos are taken from the American pornographic website "Iraq Babes," and the Hungarian site, "Sex in War,"
Later in the day they "investigated" hotnudecelebs.com and the validity of the Paris Hilton video.

You wouldn't have to pay for his flight out of here all by yourself, I'd gladly pitch in.
Not many things boggle my mind anymore, especially in the WP or NYT. But this one had me speechless. No attack on this administration and the war effort is too ludicrous for these rags.

According to of the earlier posts here, Norcutt wasn't too savvy on checking his sources. He's condemning our soldiers based on photos that found on Hungarian Porno sites. I think the guilty need to stay in Leavenworth for a good, long stretch. However, I regret deeply that those who falsely accuse our soldiers, clearly with malicious intent, will be shielded from well-deserved consequences by a law entitled Absence of Malice.

This is what helps make the slaughter of millions not only possible, but inevitable.

The Washington Polemic is home to many Bedwetting Birkenstock Bolcheviks. Norcutt's nasty nut piece comes as no surprise.

Second, the soldiers didn't just reach into a grab bag of things they thought would humiliate young Iraqi men. They chose sexual humiliation, which may recall to outsiders the rape scandal at the Air Force Academy, Tailhook and past killings of gay sailors and soldiers. Let's all sing Jesus on the Wire, Peter,Paul&Mary's paean to Mathew Shepherd. You just knew he'd dredge up Tailhook and allude to the Traditional Victims....
Is it an accident that these images feel so very much like the kind of home made porn that is traded every day on the Internet? That they capture exactly the quality and feel of the casual sexual decadence that so much of the world deplores in us?
Yes, and thank you Leftist/Liberal scum who fought hand over fist to give us the right to debase our culture in this manner.
Where was the Washington Post on this issue ?
Is it an accident that the man in the hood, arms held out as if on a cross, looks so uncannily like something out of the Spanish Inquisition? That they have the feel of history in them, a long, buried, ugly history of religious aggression and discrimination?
And let's not pass up an opportunity to mention the Wretched Religion Responsible for the Crusades Against the Religion of Peace. /SARC~

Phillip Norcutt ranks one notch worse on my lowerarchy of liberal bile-sacs than either Ted Rall or Bill Maher. Rall and Maher, like Norcutt, have all the party fixings at hand to host a circle-jerk every time the US screws one up. Unlike Norcutt, the latter two are at least smart enough not to take themselves anywhere near as seriously as Norcutt.

Ted Rall or Bill MaherThe Bile of the Media.
O' Reilly took Rall down the other night.
It was sweet to see.
