Dumbocrats fishing for the teenage vote! Promise them all the candy they want, more vacation days from school, and they got it made!
Sheesh... These DUmmies in our Legislature never fail to amaze me with the crap they come up with! I predict it will go down in FLAMES, if it makes the ballot!

We REALLY REALLY REALLY need a part-time legislature. These clowns have waaaaay too much time on their hands, if they're wasting time on such absurd proposals.

I hear that the guest speaker at some college is "Big Bird." This is just more of the same trend. But you're correct, more days off from school and maybe a limited homework bill and it's a lock for the RATS!

Isn't the age stipulation a Federal government law? Or can all states post their own age requirements?

I heard an interview a while back with Sen. John Vasconcellos. This guy is a frickin fruitcake. He was asked why he thought kids had enough responsibility to vote and he said he visited a classroom ONCE and that is the impression he got. Kids are not responsible to drive but they can vote?
Oh yeah, since he is a career politician that means people trust his judgment and therefore he considers himself an expert on everything.

Promise them all the candy they want, more vacation days from school, and they got it made! But Dems won't do that ... they're all health-nazi and public school slaves. Now if only 14yo voters are smart enough to realize that!
A candidate for Oklahoma governor a while back ran an ad saying children would vote for her, because she would spend more money on schools and doctors ... if you think kids like schools and doctors, you have to be in the twilight zone. (She lost, substantially.)

This makes perfectly logical sense. Democrats control the public schools so the sooner they can get their fledgelings into the voting both (before they've had time to think about things and have real world experiences) ... the more votes for Democrats!
You have to admit this is a good strategic move for Democrats.

The Dems are trying to get to the point where 51% of the voters are paying no tax... this would guarantee the Dems win every election in perpetuity.

Truly insane. But you're right, if it ever makes it as far as to a statewide ballot I'll bet it'll lose BIG TIME.

Does anybody suppose that this is being proposed as a way to make it easier for Democrats to win elections? Teenagers have a much higher chance of voting for liberals, thanks to all the bunk they get spoon-fed at public schools and on television.

I see this as an upgrade to most who vote Democrat. At least, these boys and girls could operate the voting machines and would not be complaining that they voted for Buchanan when they met to vote for Gore, like those blue haired old Democrat bags did in West Palm Beach Florida.
To: RogerWilko
is this for state or federal or what? If a kid has the right to vote, can they have a drivers license at 14 as well?
how stupid

With Democrats in support and Republicans in oppositionNo kidding? Who'da thunk it.
Funny thing is, just this week I happened to mention why kids can't vote to my (conservative) 13-year-old son when he mentioned the Canadian kid in his class who said "Americans are just a bunch of war-mongering idiots."
Obviously, kids are way too ignorant and impressionable to vote. Until they reach a certain age, they believe their parents. Then, when they get around to "spreading their wings," they rebel against their parents' beliefs (typically for no other reason). Some of them eventually wise up with experience and the passage of time. The others remain liberals.

Gee, if 14 year olds should have the awesome responsibility of a vote, how about the equally awesome responsibility of gun ownership? Come to think of it, maybe it wouldn't be that bad to tie the age to vote and the age of handgun ownership. The Million Morons want to make that 25 - if they allow it at all. Do you suppose 'rats would be elected without the 18-24 demographic?
