A Politically Weak President (an Al Hunt Wet Dream)

The standard wisdom is this presidential election, like most, is about the incumbent; if true, John Kerry will be sworn into office next Jan. 20.
President Bush is in a politically fragile situation, with little prospect of those fundamentals improving. This is reflected in this week's Wall Street Journal/NBC News national poll1, where a clear plurality of Americans believe America is headed in the wrong direction, lack confidence on the economy and Iraq and believe the country can do better than George W. Bush in the White House.

Telling, they say, is the campaign's inability to fashion a slogan -- like JFK's "Let's get the country moving again," or Bill Clinton's, "It's the economy, stupid" -- that voters easily understand. Al Hunt seems to believe that all Kerry needs now is a slogan.
What he misses, of course, is the obvious: The Democrat Party is about to nominate a liar in the mold of Al Gore without Raving Al's charisma.

Oops, I guess Al already did the bad acid.

Every time I read the op ed page on the WSJ and my rage starts boiling I look at the byline and almost invariably it is good ole' Al. You would think that I would check it out before I picked the rag up.
THe GOP needs to tell the Rats off on this one. It is too much. I really do not believe that the vast majority of people care about any of this.

The only time President Bush looks weak is when he compromises with the liberals. Other than that President Bush has been a strong decisive leader.

It seems that the one consistent feature of the left these days is the underestimation of this President and the administration. They never seem to see this.

Conservatives are in 'foam at the mouth' mode and need to shut up.
Every time we react to the libs we feed the fire.

Dear Mr Kerry:
The good news for you is that Mr Bush's positives are declining.
The bad news for you is that yours are already in the crapper.!

What the raging lunatic lib, al qaeda Hunt has failed to tell people, is that al qaeda Hunt is in charge of setting up the political polls that appear in the WSJ.
Does anyone believe that al qaeda Hunt would run a poll that shows that GW is doing a good job?
As long as al qaeda Hunt is employed by the WSJ, runs the political polls and hires left lunatics to pretend to be reporters, I will not subscribe to the WSJ.

I don't see President Bush as being "weak" or "vulnerable." I must admit I had my doubts in Feb. and March, but given the string of unending bad news this President has endured, it says something that he is pulling ahead of John Kerry in the polls.
I honestly do believe that Mr. Hunt, and the Democrats, believe that Bush is vulnerable. But, I think that belief is based upon the fact that Mr. Bush is. . well, Mr. Bush. In other words, Bush is a stupid, dundering fool that could not possibly be an effective President. I love it. I hope the Dems keep misunderestimating this guy.

Al Hunt makes Alan Alda look macho.
To: Grampa Dave
Amen. Grampa Dave! I am glad you call this to everyone's attention every time Hunt writes an article. No WSJ for me until Al is gone!

PLURALITY is not a MAJORITY!!
President Bush is in a politically fragile situation, with little prospect of those fundamentals improving. Yeah, Al, the economy's not fundamentally improving. Dumba$$...

The United States is in a political funk. The reason can be traced directly to the voters. Funky voters have created a funky country. This is a funky reply to a funky article.
