We're now officially a nation of softies. Apologizing during a war for some hurt feelings and some humiliation of terrorists.

Agreed. The WOT is now officially a 'police action'. Send the soldiers home and bring in the lawyers.

You have got a fantastic president.

Although your post wasn't to me, please let me say thanks. I, for one, love and respect this president enormously. He treasures loyalty almost above all other character traits. He has mine.

The headline is misleading. I heard the President.

He did not apologize for his own behavior. He said he was sorry that some other folks did what they did.

World of difference.

Do you not realize that Bush speaks for this ENTIRE country, even the dolts that did this in Iraq? It's his JOB to take responsibility for ALL our citizens, whether YOU like it or not.

Has he apologized for the murder of Carlie Brucia? If not, why not?

>Well, even Kerry sounds more steadfast than some people here. What does that tell you?

One thing it tells me
is you have great contempt for
your fellow Freepers.

If you're so disturbed
by Freepers speaking their mind
take a few weeks off.

Hi Joe.

I agree that things tend to become hysterical. On both sides.

I said it repeatedly over the Fallujah affair where some people (I am not going to name names) absolutely denied the reports that the Marines were indeed retreating. They look kinda foolish know.

What is needed is steadfastness, willing to stand upright through the storm, and never give up, never surrender.

I happen to belive America is currently gifted with such a man. I am less certain if the majority of the American people share those qualites.

Don't waste it.

"I don't think he should have even been annoyed with Rumsfeld "

no, he is right to upbraid Rummy on this...this investigation has been going on for months, and the Prez was blind-sided by these pics. He let Rummy know that he let him down. I'm sure Rummy knows this, and has probably offered W his resignation. And I am sure W has rejected it...now they are both ready to move on. Also, W needs to get Rummy, Rice, and Powell together and tell them to get a rein on their staff...he doesn't want to read anymore infighting crap in the newspapers...we're at war, dammit.

WE're up for it. This whole thing will blow over, of course, our media will attempt to drag it out resulting in the American people tuning them out completely. It'll ruin Kerry's strategy because he planned on using the press. It's called the law of unintended consequences.
