Well, I don't know about you, but I've started taking vitamins, exercising, and eating right. In other words, I'm going into training for the elections :o)

Don't try to deny it Joe; you try to turn every single thread into a bashing Hispanics and illegal aliens thread and everybody here knows it.

And now you try and crawl away from the vile personal attack upon me by dragging "everyone" else into it. LOL! Sorry Howlin, wont work honey. That's why you come here empty handed, with nothing, no quotes, to back up you're routine nasty personal attacks.

That's OK Howlin, as unlike you, I'll prove my points with quotes from you're own words, as #520 clearly proves.

My guess is because we have put so much stock in Pakistan or at any rate its leader. Take about potential for hell breaking loose, Palestine is nothing compared with Kashmir. The Hindus and the Muslims have been at it for five hundrd years, but most intensely since the Partition of British India.

I'll tell you right now that I am sorry Clinton was elected in 1992 and 1996. That does not mean I accept any responsibility for those unfortunate events. The press is just jumping on the word "sorry" to try to blame Bush for the scandal.

As I said before, though, Bush is playing to the Arab propaganda machine, not domestic politics. This issue will disappear in the US very quickly. Bush is trying to keep it from getting legs in the Middle East.

The sad part is that someone leaked the pictures in an effort to damage Bush politically without regard for the damage it will do to our Middle East Policy and our troops in the field. Further, the release of the photos clearly has caused greater humiliation to the "victims" and will no way increase the punishment of the photo-takers. If I, as a prosecutor, had released the photos I would have been guilty of violating the victims rights. Then why can the press hide behind the anonymity of sources when they, themselves, have wronged the "victims" by publicizing the photos?

This story has so jumped the shark

You put my thoughts into words.
I nominate the Washington Post picture of "Leash Girl" today as the moment this story "jumped the shark". It almost seemed like a Saturday Night Live skit of the story. We've gone from outrage to farce.

But if something was done that requires an apology, might there also be a need for somebody to lose their job??

Also, an apology only emboldens our Leftists at home. I think yesterday was enough. I think that amounted to an apology--he didn't have to go any further, but I am over it and moving on. I just hope he doesn't get rid of Rummy.

I know, that is the question. 1-5-03, I was busy doing some Un-American, trollish stuff that really agreed with my gloom and doom essence.

I will shortly be putting up a thread about how to LIVE through the coming elections, based on past Freeper experiences!

Based on the levels of hysteria demonstrated by some on this and other threads, you will need to post it at least weekly. More frequently as we get closer to Nov. And Petronsky will need to have his medical supplies close at hand too.

Please ping me to the thread.

Hey...let's look at the NEWS...we aren't hearing with this FAKE news item...the "Abuse" is a SMOKE SCREEN...

AS long as we have the USA dealing with the "hazing" the REAL NEWS about the SCAM called OIL FOR FOOD isn't discussed!

GEEE if we keep the USA on the "defensive" we certainly don't have any time to discuss the REAL CRIME that has the UN up to it's eyebrows in ILLEGAL activity!

The apology allows us to clear the SMOKE to get back to the REAL crime....FOOD for OIL Scam!!!

What he said to the king is "I'm sorry those people were humiliated". That's like saying "I'm sorry your husband died" at a funeral. In no way would the person at the funeral think you were apologizing. Sheesh!

Hey, let's arrange an implant so you can track my moves. I think that would be the most efficient way to proceed.

President Bush's words were very carefully chosen. He did not apologize per se but, as is eminently reasonable, said he is indeed sorry for what happened. There's a crucial difference. If Bush refused to say he is sorry, the Arab world will continue to cry out that Bush refuses to say he is sorry, and that Bush is really laughing at what happened. We are in a war for our survival. The fuel in your car is from the Middle East. Winning the hearts and minds of those in the Arab lands is as critical as anything can be. Two more photos came out today: one of an arab stripped, tied, and bent severely back against a bunk - with a pair of panties covering his head; the other of a stripped arab man lying on a floor with what looks like a leash around his neck held by a U.S. soldier (the implication is that the prisoner is bbeing treated deliberately like a dog.)You may at first smile at this. But think again - how would you react if you saw American prisoners - your own countrymen - being culturally humiliated in this manner. You would justifably be in a rage; and you, too, would call it torture. With these new photos, Bush had no choice but to say he was sorry for what happened. He was absolutely right.
