Slimeing the Democratic podium

This is almost too good to be true.  John Kerry granted a pandering interview to Black Entertainment Television a week or so ago.  To the surprise of absolutely nobody, one of the questions was whether or not Al Sharpton would be a speaker at the Democratic National Convention.  The Poodle's* response?  "If he wants to do it, I'd like him to do it.  I think he'd do a terrific job.  I think he'll add something...there's no plea necessary.

It's my invitation."  There's no way in this wonderful wide, wide world of politics that  Sharpton, who has never seen a camera he didn't want to be in front of, will turn down the invitation.  Al Sharpton will speak at the Democratic National Convention.  What’s life if you don’t have something to look forward to?

Despair not, my friends.  This is actually good news.  Sharpton's appearance at the Democratic convention will give us an opportunity to showcase the moral decadence of the Democratic Party.  Sharpton is a lying scoundrel of the first order, though they embrace him.  Never has the saying "you're known by the company you keep" been more true.

Electoral politics of 2004 place a higher value on apologies for slights and wrongdoings, both real and imagined, than on cogent policy initiatives.  Here’s a chance for Republicans to take the politics of apologetic moral exhibitionism and turn it to their advantage. Begin a campaign right now … a campaign to demand that Reverend Al  use his allotted time at the Democratic National Convention to give to Democratic myrmidons that which they are so fond of demanding of others.  Al Sharpton can issue a few apologies!

For Sharpton’s virtual apology orgy we can start with the Tawana Brawley episode.  Certainly a big-time Sharpton apology is due to former prosecutor Steve Pagones.  Perhaps you remember that Sharpton accused Pagones, of raping Tawana Brawley.  Pagones certainly remembers.  He sued Sharpton and was awarded $345,000.  Sharpton has yet to apologize for his role in the Brawley affair and his unfounded and slanderous accusations against Pagones and others.  Now’s the chance!

While Sharpton's on a apologetic roll he can say something to the family of Yankel Rosenbaum.  Rosenbaum was surrounded and stabbed to death by a Brooklyn mob that was shouting "kill the Jews." The crowd had been whipped into a frenzy by Al Sharpton railing against "diamond merchants" with "the blood of innocent babies" on their hands.  What was this all about?  A young black child was killed in a traffic accident.  Though the unfortunate death was clearly an accident, the fact that a Jew was driving the car that killed the black child was too much for Sharpton.  His incitements eventually resulted in Rosenbaum’s death.

Sharpton’s apologetic odyssey certainly has to include the families of the seven employees of Freddy's Fashion Mart in Harlem.  Freddy's, you see, was owned by a white Jew.

A Harlem store run by a Jew -- rich Sharpton territory.  The owner of Freddy's rented his space from a black church and sublet a small portion of this space to a music store owned by a black man.  The black landlord raised the rent on Freddy's Fashion Mart.  This obviously meant that the owner of Freddy's, the white Jew, had to raise the rent on the black man who ran the record store.  Al Sharpton rushed to the rescue of the oppressed black music store owner.  Sharpton starts leading demonstrations.  He screams to the crowd that "We will not stand by and allow them to move this brother so that some white interloper can expand his business."  Sharpton's mob starts yelling "Burn down the Jew store!" and "We're going to see that this cracker suffers."  Finally the Sharpton-driven demonstrations erupt into violent disaster.  A protester enters the store, warns all black customers to get out, shoots four employees point-blank, then sets a fire.  Seven people die.  Sharpton owes their families an apology.

For a more current apology, Sharpton can apologize to the Federal Election Commission for his campaign finance abuses that caused no small amount of money in investigation costs.  The investigations resulted in a ruling denying Big Al any future matching funds plus a demand for a return for funds already paid.  Those of you who think that Sharpton will actually return can join those folks who thought that Hillary really didn’t know where those billing records were – in a corner somewhere.

The problem, of course, is that demanding apologies is a Democratic political sport, not a Republican one.  So, why can't Republicans take a play out of the Democratic book now!  Get on the record .. .demand Sharpton's apologies.  See if you get any media coverage.  It sure works well for the left.

*Those of you who are not fortunate enough to live in a market where you can catch my daily radio show, a number that is distressingly large, might wonder why I refer to John Kerry as “The Poodle.”   Let’s see:  (1)  He’s French.  (2) He gets carefully groomed before important showings. (3)  He’s a rich woman’s pet. My apologies to admirers of that noble breed.

Sharpton at the convention, on the podium. Could happen, i guess.

tell you this, though; the man can muster a rent-a-mob, and I wouldn't be surprised if he rose to warlord during some urban civil war. Sort of a better-dressed version of Aideed.

Frankly, it's a dream come true. First, they're shoving Jessuh Jackson to the side, second, they're giving a mike to a hysterical fruitcake, and third, it's going to be the image the public takes away from the convention, because the Revrund Al can sling a truckload of bovine product better than Kerry.

I'm looking for a downside here...

No men need vote.

Fat Albert Sharpton might also like to apologize to the millions of black children he has supported killing in their mothers' womb. What a guy! Typical democrat.

Nope, he won't alienate the harpies who vote like clock-work.

besides, although planned parenthood used to target blacks, i can't help noticing what is politely called disproportionate fertility rates.

Sharpton aside, I've been pondering the the very real possibilities of bizarre spectacle at Dem. convention..remember '68 and '72? Just watching those circuses won Nixon many votes.

With the present psychotic state of the dems I have high hopes, though fewer people watch now.
