You still don't want to come out and admit that nobody in the dennisw clan wears the nation's uniform. And yet you're VERY pro war - - - as long as other people's sons and daughters are doing the dying.

I'm like you in one respect - - I have no relatives in the fight - but that's because I would discourage them, because I have thought from the beginning we shouldn't have invaded Iraq, there weren't WMDs and they weren't involved in 9-11.

It's the war boosters like you who should be sending sons, daughters and other relatives over there - - - but so many of you aren't, for some curious reason.

And please don't call this life-long Republican and four-time Reagan voter a "liberal". I'll bet I was walking precincts for conservative Republicans long before you ever joined the party (if indeed you're even a registered Republican) I voted for Bush Sr. and Bush Jr - will vote for him again; but I have the freedom as an American to disagree where I think he's wrong - and Iraq is an area where he's wrong, in my opinion.

I have a few Romanian friends and have been there a little bit. From what little I've seen, I think the kind of patriotism and willingness to sacrifice we have here is much less prevalent there. I think it is an artifact of their history and geography. A country made up of previously warring factions united only in 1918. Dominated or invaded by bigger neighbors (Soviet Union, Hungary, Germany). Kept under the thumb of a viscious, corrupt dictator for decades. Romanians tend to be a bit cynical in my observation. Given that and the fact that this very young woman lost her husband, I would say that her feelings are understandable and unremarkable and may not even be this negative. Who chose to write and publish this story and why?

No wonder you have no problem with the body counts - none of your relatives are in harms way.

OK...how about some of my family are in harm's way and your liberal, Kerryesque rantings irritate me, too.

Oh...almost forgot to tell you...I'm also in Iraq.

Today women don't play enough of a roll in the world body politic. Thats a good thing. 90% of the planet likes to denigrate them, rape them, rape them again, and in general dismiss them. That sucks.

There is a fundamental difference between men and women. It as if they were a different species.

Men like to go out and spray testosterone all over the place, kill things, break things, and generally prove they are better than the other guy. They always want to dominate.

Women like to form coalitions, communicate, nurture and gossip. Women make horrible warriors and protectors.

The world is an evil place, populated with evil people.

Someday in the DISTANT future, we will draw on the strengths of male dominance, and female coalescence...

Your blanket dismissal of the female is repugnant. You are a Neanderthal.

Had those other nations not been purchased with Saddam's oil money and acted with us from the start there likely would have been no war at all.

Saddam didn't believe we were coming.

He believed that because of the French and Russians.

First you hide behind a grieving widow and then the last refuge for a "true conservative", Ronald Reagan.

BTW, why don't you go shout your mantra of no WMD's in the faces of the Kurds.

liberal, Kerryesque rantings

What do you mean? Kerry is for the war. He voted for it, and say he'd continue it. A lot of liberals are for it. Blair's a liberal, for instance. Me? I'm a conservative of longstanding who happens to believe there was no necessity, no US national security imperative, for us to invade Iraq. Sorry, but in a free country like this, you're going to find there are people who disagree with you. You're going to have to get use to that, I know it's difficult. If you'd rather not hear any disagreeing viewpoints, you might try moving to Cuba or Sudan.

So hypocritter you has no kin in the war either. While I support it and you want to run away from the reality of international geo-politics.

In your alternate universe no one who supports this war has any standing unless they are a veteran or have family in Iraq. Such un-American nonsense. Go take a moral inventory because you are a demoralizer of our military, indistinguishable from the Democrat loudmouths I see on the tube.

My "mantra" of no WMDs is also the "mantra" of David Kay and everybody else who has tried to find them. As Jack said in the movie, guess "you can't handle the truth" I sorry for you, but not sorry enough to join you in closing my eyes to reality.

More than you do. No one is keeping them from using their "freedom of speech" and you won't keep me from using mine. She is not the only "war widow". I doubt that she was allowed any freedom of speech in Romania. She is the one who is trashing the memory of her husband not me.

but not the freedom of anyone who disagrees with this war to use freedom of speech -

Yes but I have the "freedom of speech" to point out your agenda. Ain't FOS grand?

Thank goodness. If it weren't for the freedom of speech I enjoy in America by virtue of the Constitution, there are some angry freepers who - - I really think -- would like to imprison the likes of me for the crime of disagreeing with them.

An unfortunate circumstance with so many brave widows expressing pride in what their husband did.Why paint all with the same brush?

I do not ever rail against a grieving parent, sibling or spouse. They have suffered great loss and are in pain.I thank her husband for serving our country and pray God's comfort for all who loved him.
