Madrid case leads to lawyer in Oregon
The Oregonian ^ | May 7, 2004 | Noelle Crombie and Mark Larrabee

Federal agents on Thursday detained a Washington County lawyer in connection with the deadly March 11 terrorist attack in Madrid -- the first American connection to the worst terrorist attack since Sept. 11, 2001.

Brandon Mayfield, 37, who lives in Aloha and played a minor legal role in the Portland Seven terrorism case, was picked up at his West Slope law office on a material witness hold Thursday morning, said Tom Nelson, Mayfield's attorney.

Please forgive me if this has been posted already; my search didn't find it.

There's lots of useful information in here.

For one, a neighbor is quoted as saying Mayfield spoke of having been raised in Kansas, whereas most press accounts say that Mayfield was from Coos Bay, Ore.

Another interesting discrepancy is that Mayfield is said to have called his attorney, Nelson, because Mayfield saw Nelson on the news on Wednesday night. But Mayfield had asked Nelson 10 years ago where Mayfield should attend law school. A few things don't quite add up here.

"...played a MINOR legal role in the Portland Seven terrorism case..."

That one word lets you know where this reporter, paper, city. state, and country is coming from.

We are at war with anti-Christian/anti-America factions world-wide, and especially inside our own borders and they are being protected by scum-lawyers and leftist-activist judges.

It is time we declare war and take out our enemies.

I'm not willing to concede defeat in the larger sense, but I'm willing to concede the point.

If every Christian can understand that simple fact, and if Christian people would be allowed to to feel US AGAINST THEM kind of attitude and organization, we will win this war.

re: Lamson said there was not much foot traffic in and out of Mayfield's office, only about one client a month. But it seemed that Mayfield was a hard worker, sometimes coming into the office on weekends. )))

My goodness, that must have been a lucrative client, indeed.

yeah - it went a bit extreme when I said country ... but in one way it is true ... our lawyer/politician/judge "masters" are mostly in favor of those who would destroy us.

"masters" is used because if you read the official statements from many activist judges - you will see that they appoint "MASTERS" to rule over almost everything in our lives now.

Indeed.

True enough, but judges don't have to accept their rulings, and if they do so wrongly, appeal is an option.

I may sound unrealistically optimistic, but there are aspects of the system that actually work, and I am not ready to throw them out just because other parts need repair.

There has got to be something weird in the air up there in Oregon and Washington or it's that the residents are truely smoking too much of the BC ganja.

Okay, I'm a USA born dude, pretty smart 'cause I want to be an attorney and I call some obscure attorney about which law school to attend? Makes absolutely no sense.

The attorney's wife is from Egypt. Atta was from Egypt and everyone is about the same age. Wonder when she was in Egypt last.

"Masters" has been in our legal system forever. I have several records of Masters in Chancery transactions in a big box marked "Legal stuff".

I agree.

Nelson said he first spoke with Mayfield over the telephone in 1994 or 1995, when the younger man called him seeking advice on where to go to law school. Until Thursday, the two had never met. Mayfield settled on Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kan., and finished at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Nelson said.

Worse yet, he transfers from Bob Dole's alma mater to Monica Lewinsky's!

"Masters in Chancery"

Terminology used by the Royal Courts and those who follow Rhodes

How many of you 'conservatives' can even remember when it was ILLEGAL for an American citizen (not to mention govt official) to accept title or citizenship from other countries? But that could make most politicians / lawyers / judges criminals. (("Esquire" is actually a foreign title)) That portion of our constitution has disappeared - somewhere around the 1960's.

From Law.com:
A "special" master differs from a "master" in that he/she takes positive action rather than just investigating and reporting to the judge.

"Positive Action" does NOT mean positive as in "good". It means direct intervention of an activist judge.

I have only ONE true Master - Anyone else who declares himself as my master and tries to enforce that ...

Agreed, it's stifling up here!! In looking at the cup half-full, I wonder if having this freak as well as our Portland seven busted here, maybe, just maybe some of these leftists here will start to get the jist that they have been creating a haven for extremists in their own back yard. It's a stretch, but if this works out and they see what they've created, maybe we can take back the state from the apeasers in office this year. (one can only hope and pray)
