Kerry said he wanted to recruit or retain 500,000 teachers during his first term in the White House. He also said he would provide tuition assistance to college students who agree to teach in high-demand areas. Schools that boost student achievement or make other improvements would receive up to $500,000 under the plan. Once again, Kerry's math doesn't add up. 500,000 new teachers, at anywhere from $50K to $100K including bennies, comes to $25 billion to $50 billion PER YEAR. How is he going to fit that into his $30 billion over ten years?
Seems that he needs to talk to a math teacher himself.

I was at a friends house last saturday, his wife is a teacher. Well, there was quite a few couples there where the wife is a teacher and the husbands are engineers. One of the husbands was talking about property taxes and I told him to quit complaining about them. He looked at me crazy and I quickly followed up with "It's for da chilrun, don't ya know!" Well, it was like I kicked a hornets nest with all the teachers. Not one of them could successfully defend their positions.
The only question I have to ask is, "why has the student performance continued to decline, while at the same time spending has increased?"
