Parents of Terri Schindler-Schiavo Told to Pay to See Their Daughter

Clearwater, FL May 7, 2004: In yet another bizarre twist of the Terri Schindler-Schiavo case, the Schindler family was informed that they must now pay a fee for “security” each time that they want to visit their daughter.

On Wednesday, May 5, 2004, Deborah Bushnell of Dunedin, an attorney representing Michael Schiavo, faxed a letter to attorneys representing the parents of Terri Schindler-Schiavo.

In her communication, Ms. Bushnell recommended that Ms. Schiavo's parents could be permitted to visit their disabled daughter if they would agree to hire an off-duty police person to accompany them. This comes after attorney Patricia Anderson, who represents Ms. Schiavo's parents, filed a Writ of Quo Warranto, demanding that Mr. Schiavo demonstrate what authority he has to deny his wife visits from her immediate family. Should the Schindlers fail to pay, they would be denied visitation rights.

Ms. Schiavo currently has an off-duty police person, paid for by Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, assigned to her on a 24 hour a day basis. Additionally, the Schindlers have reported that, during their visits, nursing staff frequently enter their daughter's room.

Ms. Schiavo's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, have not been permitted to visit her since March 29, 2004 (39 days), when attorney George Felos of Dunedin issued a press release stating that suspicious marks were found on her arm. A toxicology study conducted on Ms. Schiavo concluded that no unauthorized chemicals were found in her system. Ms. Schiavo's parents, along with her siblings, had attempted to visit her the following day at Park Place Assisted Living and were turned away by nursing staff in compliance with "Mr. Schiavo's orders".

Statement of Attorney Patricia Anderson:

By recommending that the financially-strapped Schindlers may only visit Terri if they pay yet another off-duty police person to accompany them, is an effort to inhibit them from freely seeing their own daughter. A couple of years ago, Michael Schiavo contacted Terri's parents and offered to give the balance of Terri's money over to charity. He and his attorneys used this a talking point for the media - claiming that Michael had no financial interest in Terri's death. What they neglected to mention was that that particular offer was predicated upon the Schindler's agreeing to Terri's dehydration and starvation death.

This latest tactic from Ms. Bushnell is really no different. I will not be surprised if Ms. Bushnell uses this as another talking point with the media in an attempt to make her and her client appear less cruel.

No mother should have to pay an admission fee to see her child on Mother's Day. Perhaps Ms. Bushnell has forgotten how most people spend Mother's Day."

Oops! That's supposed to read, "Why *aren't* the regular citizens the biggest contributors?"

Then I got thinking about this, "Don't they trust him?!!", and I guess another reason why you might contribute to someone's campaign is BECAUSE you don't feel they can be trusted UNLESS you contribute!

I've heard Greer is vindictive. Maybe he lets that play out in his courtroom more than we know from just Terri's case alone! This could be a big thing to pass on to the Judicial Qualifications Committee. It would be the kind of thing they might actually look in to.

GREER THINKS HE HAS ONE OPPONENT as of today's day. Just wait until he finds out he has TWO OPPONENTS. Our Pinellas Republican party is split and the blame goes to George Greer and all of his cronies like Sheriff Rice and State Attorney Bernie McCabe (whose office hung up on me this morning which they always do if it's about Terri.) I thought it was important that Michael made a statement through an anchor on Bay News 9 this morning that "he may not wait to pull the feeding tube until the stay or Jeb's appeals are through.

IF THERE IS A STAY AND A PENDANCY, WHY IS HINO ON MY TV TALKING ABOUT PLANS TO MURDER HIS WIFE?

See my recent post. GREER HAS TWO OPPONENTS RUNNING AGAINST HIM. He is unaware of the second one at this point. GREER MUST GO. Either by taxpayer outcry that he's incompetent or at the ballot box.

Husband's attorney GEORGE FELOS DOES A PRESSER LAST WEEK that they would not pull the feeding tube until Jeb's appeals were all done.

Saturday am. Husband remarks that "he may not wait to pull the tube for Jeb's appeals.

IS THE CLIENT OUT OF CONTROL OR ARE THEY PLAYING MORE GAMES WITH TERRI'S FAMILY AND HER VERY LIFE? Their remarks contradict one another but the husband's remarks mean TERRI'S MARKED FOR DEATH AT HIS DISCRETION. He just needs a shady judge to lift the stay and you can find a shady judge here EVEN ON THE WEEKEND.....

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND that freepers contact Virginia Delegate Bob Marshall. Here's a url with some background info on him. He helped Terri in October, 2003. We need to get his attention ASAP. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I don't have his phone number on me or email. U.S. Delegate.

Thank you for the beautiful Novena to Our Lady of Good Remedy! I'm going to add that to my list of prayers for Terri.

Can you come up with any specific cases? I'm working on Greer this afternoon. I am aware of the one where the wife was murdered after he denied her a protective order.

That was Helene Ball-McGee who Greer refused to give a Restraining Order. It was in the St. Petersburg Times that Greer said something like "he wasn't a mind reader" after she was murdered two weeks later. I MET THE VICTIM'S BEST GIRLFRIEND AT THE VIGIL. She has despised GREER since he did othing to stop the murder of her friend. You can google that one.

Ms. Bushnell is the author of the policy of denying all kindness, mercy or comfort to Terri, lest it set a legal precedent for giving her therapy.

Bushnell is a Nazi.

pc93: Thanks for the ping.

tutstar: I can read all the documents, except the first one. The link works, but my Acrobat reader can't read the document. I end up with gray "sheets of paper." Is there anything I can do, or is the problem on your end?

If someone wants to write a book about this monster, I have a title, namely, Lethal Incompetent: The Times and Judicial Crimes of George Greer.

I had my neighbor try it and loads-no problem, but they are on broadband also. I don't know what your connection speed is, you might have to let it sit for a few minutes to fully load.
You may need to update your adobe acrobat, one loaded with V5 and the other V6.
I have to run out for a few and will check back with you as soon as I return. If nothing else you can freepmail me and I'll email it to you directly or pc93 could as well. It would be best if we can solve the problem so that the docs get the most visibility on the internet.
thanks

I know that there is no such beast, but that's all the more reason for us to question and investigate every piece of pertinent news that comes our way.

Who cares if a newspaper or advertiser is using propaganda tactics to sell shoes or skate boards? We are all bombarded by that stuff every day, but our money is so important to us that we research before we buy. We scrutinize the product before we purchase it. We don't just switch back and forth from coke to Pepsi just because some media outlet told us to.

But for some inexplicable reason, when a hugely important issue like Terri is presented, people just swallow whatever the media throws out there. Are we just too lazy to seek the truth, or have we forgotten that there are real consequences to actions like giving the courts the power to kill?

Terri's case will set the precedence for forced death without a legally binding directive from the individual.

If they kill Terri it will be like dropping a euthanasia pebble into a still pond. The ripples will spread across this nation in months, and before you know it doctors and insurance companies will be murdering the sick in there beds with full permission from the courts.

This is already starting to happen in Europe where euthanasia was popularized by cases very similar to Terri's. We are doing our nation a huge disservice if we don't actively try to stop what is happening to Terri.

We need to stop sweating the small stuff and start investigating the big stuff. Terri's fate is going to change the course of this nation. There is no excuse for complacency or gullibility on an issue that is this important to us all.
