CBS NEWS: IRAQI SOLDIER TORTURE VIDEO CLIPS
May 7th, 2004
"We were dealing here with a broad pattern, not individual acts. There was a pattern and a system."
- Pierre Kraehenbuehl, director of operations for the International Committee of the Red Cross
CBS News broke the story of Iraqi prisoner abuse in its 60 Minutes II program on April 29th since which a growing political storm has raged that today reached the level of Congressional and Senate hearings in which Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld was on the hot seat. Rumsfeld offered his "deepest apology" to Iraqi prisoners abused by sadistic military personnel and said that even more disturbing videos and photos are yet to come. "It's going to get a good deal more terrible, I'm afraid," he forewarned (Reuters).
As of tonight, CBS News already has accessed some video clips of Iraqi soldiers being tortured and sadistically abused.
Dan Rather reports: TORTURE OF IRAQI SOLDIERS - (WARNING: This video segment contains graphic violence.)
Some of the raw footage used to produce this CBS report is taken from the following clips:
IRAQI SOLDIER TORTURE VIDEO CLIP #1
IRAQI SOLDIER TORTURE VIDEO CLIP #2
Likewise, ABC News is aware of just how far the torture of Iraqis has gone.
Fortunately, international organizations like the Red Cross and United Nations, which will not turn a blind eye to the sufferings of the Iraqi people and have proven steadfast in their resolve to provide assistance regardless of the danger, are on top of the crimes that have been committed and are going to hold accountable those responsible even if the Bush Administration does not.

Looked at clip one and what I see is a bunch of people in Iraqi uniforms beating the souls of somebody's feet, hear no english, far as i can tell it just might be some Musselman ceremony celebrating the menstrual cycle of a the moon goddess.

Very clever post.
That's Saddam's guys doing the torture.
This is all long before the war.
These are all things CBS and ABC showed.
These are all things that the UN and the Red Cross did not scream about, even if they did complain a bit.

Look again.
Read his post carefully- his post doesn't say WE did it.
These are all clips from before the war. Clips ABC and CBS showed. They knew about the torture under Saddam.
To: SkyPilot; All
Check out the links- I think RTL left out the "/sarcasm"...the links point to examples of IRAQIS abusing their countrymen- not US troops.
ps- RTL, in the future it may help to make plain(er) what your point is- it may seem obvious when you're posting...but others may not "get it."
To: Righting The Left; All
The article/link refers to "Saddam's home movies"
You need to clarify your posting OR
CRAWL BACK UNDER YOUR ROCK...

Well, that makes my life easier. Now I don't have to hit abuse or anything.

Is the UN currently "righting the wrongs" in places like the Sudan, where Islamicists are enslaving and killing the Sudanese people?
On the contrary, the wonderfully humanitarian UN just rewarded the Sudanese government by giving them a post on the United Nations Human Rights Commission.
