"EXPLOSION of ADD,"

ADD is a modern, convenient excuse to pigeon hole Jr.'s behavior so that single Mom's (and undisciplined couples) don't have to discipline and be responsible for making sure homework and studies get done instead of allowing the kids to boob out on the tube or computer. Its an excuse for a general lack of hands-on parenting so that mom and dad don't feel guilty for their failure.

I don't doubt that dyslexia exists, I had it (still do when I'm really tired), but the cooperation by the child psychology community and educational institutions to further the acceptance of ADD as a valid affliction is all about the money and not helping the kids, IMO.

You are a judgemental ass, you obviously don't base your opinions on any facts, and you appear to be a jerk to boot.

Be thankful you don't have to deal with this.

We are NOT lazy parents, still married, I stay home with my children, no marital problems, the kids don't even have a TV, my son is the top reader in his school, he gets all As and Bs, and we get complimented on our children's behavior.

He ALSO has no impulse control which results in temper tantrums and poor decision making, has sleep problems, can't read body language, has a problem in the part of his brain that processes writing tasks.

We agonized for FIVE years before we put my son on medication. We tried vitamins, diet changes, occupational therapy, counselling, etc.
