Unfortunate article.I saw Taguba just now and he was not about let the dems put words in his mouth nor did he imply the problem went higher tha Karpinski. He did just the opposite.

And we worry and wring hands about naked prisoners in panties...........when will we get serious about this WOT. The LEFTIST SCUM will blame this on GW and the SECDEF for allowing the prison "TORTURE" to exist. We have got to stop this CRAP in the Senate where the gimmies constantly attack the administration.

They did the same thing with those Japanese hostages who were also anti-war protestors.

Good point. And now that you mention it, I don't think they were every indentified, even after their release, as anti-war protestors. (Except of course at Free Republic.)

They won't show it for reasons as to not "inflame" us here and causing a backlash of violence.

Yep, same reason they won't show the 9/11 footage at the beginning of every news broadcast. Bastards.

There's a good lesson in this. Just being "on their side" won't help you when the religion of peace guys come for you with their machetes.

Doesn't change the fact that he was an American. An interesting detail, nonetheless.

That said... The Rachel Corrie incident springs to mind, now that we know this guy went there without State Dept. sponsorship and was basically a peace activist looking to make a buck.

Still terrible. Still further proof that Islam is the enemy of civilization. Retribution should be swift...

MSNBC article seems to say that US forces were holding Berg, at least for a while. I don't understand why...?

I want to know who leaked the first photos and the timing of the leak.

Somehow this Taguba guy doesn't sound right to me. I'm going to remain open minded until I know more but the leak came after his investigation and after he had the photos.

If the name of the leaker comes up and it's not Taguba, then I'll retract my statement. Until then, it stands.

He and Joe Wilson seems to be a lot alike.

If this guy was an anti-war type, his parents have probably already been contacted by the DNC to prepare anti-Bush/anti-war ads, develop scripts for Meet the Press, prepare them to testify before congress, etc.

As they inhale, the mutter to themselves "everything that happens...". Then as they exhale, the mutter "is Bush's fault." Over and over. It lulls them right to sleep with the sweetest little smile on their chubby faces, and the warmest fuzzy feeling in their hearts.

20 times a minute. For three and a half years.

IF, this is correct...I can see the spin on this already. It will be the U.S. State Dept's fault, the FBI's fault...and of course Pres. Bush's fault...because they didn't "protect" him. They knew he was a "protester", and exposed him to great harm...and they got him killed.

FRegards,

Apparently, Nick Berg's brother Michael is the peacenik. Not Nick:

His parents had not wanted him to go. But they say they think he was lured partly by a sense of adventure, partly because he is a "staunch supporter of the government position in Iraq and he wanted to go over there and help."
