>>Can't blame Bush. This story is going nowhere.
It's funny...MS-NBC is running the "Failure of Leadership" headlines and won't get off the prison story. It reminds me of when the libs tried to get rid of Al Haig....he was in every issue of the NYT - front and center - with something negative.

who was the president in 2000?
But you see, Bush was running for President -
- The stock market *knew* he was going to win so it tanked
- Enron execs *knew* Bush would bail them out, so "Kenny-boy" ran the company in the ground
- Knowing that Algore was going to lose, the internet dot coms decided to just "end it all"
- Janet Reno figured out that all the terrorist plots they were uncovering were just Bush and his buddy Bin Laden trying to make Clinton look bad, so they ignored them...

We need to know what the Governor of Texas knew about this.
And when did he know it?
To: UnbelievingScumOnTheOtherSide
With your four point, you have cleared up a lot of questions. Now I know the rest of the story. ;)

My only doubts on this are why has it taken this long after 9/11 for this to be revealed? Does the FBI have evidence that this actually happened?
To: Nick Danger
"Are reporters this stupid, or do they think think the rest of us are this stupid?" I'll take door #2.

I do remember seeing this posted a long time ago. Glad it's coming out again, except that the agency withstands so much public critique and underappreciation in spite of what it does accomplish, which often stays secret.

Hey, I want door 1 and 2, they both apply. Reporters are stupid to think that what they are intentionally doing is called reporting.

Yes! Yes!
If door 3 is "They never miss a chance to hate America," I'll take that one too.

That's the best part about hindsight: it's always right. Are reporters this stupid, or do they think think the rest of us are this stupid? No matter what happens, there's always some Cassandra out there who "warned" about it. Just like they "warned" about 500 other things, 500 of which never happened. "See that? This heroic whistleblower here wrote a memo two years ago warning that there would be a forest fire in California. But nobody listened!" Spare me. I'm with you.
