Lauer Never Mentions Nick Berg; Lets Ted Kennedy Make Rambling Charges of "Disaster" and "Blunder"
The Today Show
Posted on 5/13/2004, 11:25:05 AM by governsleastgovernsbest
Matt Lauer just concluded a mess of an "interview" with Sen. Ted Kennedy. It was clear from the start that Whathe old bull had no regard for Lauer or his questions. Kennedy bulldozed over the hapless Lauer and his puny efforts to constrain Kennedy to actually answer questions.
Instead, the interview was essentially one long rant. I am not exaggerating when I say that Kennedy, in a period of no more than five minutes, used the word "disaster" at least 12 times and the word "blunder" with equal frequency.
A sampling:
"Iraq has been a disaster in terms of policy, leadership and ommand. The Rumsfeld trip should have been done in February. This is just a continuation of disaster after disaster. We're the most hated nation in the world. Chances of another attack in the US have been enhanced. Blunder after blunder. Fall from grace. An absolute disaster, blunder after blunder after blunder."
At one point Lauer tried to 'helpfully' way in, citing a NY Times article to the effect that we are using tough interrogation techniques on Al-Qaeda prisoners. "Are we blurring line between us and those we are trying to defeat?'
Kennedy was quick to allege that Rumsfeld must have approved these techniques.
Bizarrely, Lauer then segued to a discussion of . . . the 5th anniversary of Brown vs. the Board of Education. And tossed a pitiful softball: "What's most important lesson we draw from it?"
Lauer did not mention, let alone ask a question, about the unspeakable slaughter of Nick Berg. Not a word. Not a word.

Heading out for the morning. "Enjoy"!

Ted Kennedy rolls around DC in a drunken stupor. I don't know why any media outlet would have him on without a sobriety test. The citizens of Massachusets should be ashamed.

Kennedy was quick to allege that Rumsfeld must have approved these techniques. How fitting a cartoon by Mike Ramirez had today in the LA Times. Also in the Austin Un-American Ultra-Liberal Pravada

Heading out for the morning. "Enjoy"! Enjoyment is not exactly the word I would describe watching the bloviationg Oldmobile Ted. I was channel surfing and heard Lauer asking kennedy to stay on point.

During the Imus interview of Kerry yesterday, Nick Berg was never mentioned once.
Do they think that if they don't talk about something, that means it never happened?

And the minions of Hell in Mass. keep reelecting this disgusting, seditious, treasonous piece of flatulent vomit.
He is a disgrace to every living creature. He is willfully using every opportunity to give aid and comfort to our enemies and to lower the morale of the troops who are putting their lives on the line to keep his bloviated, repulsive butt safe.
The English language, rich as it is, lacks the words which would properly express my utter contempt for this sleazy filth.

I mentioned this on an earlier thread... Kennedy left a woman to die alone in a car... and now we're going to listen to him tell US about morality????? A murderer?

The Austin rag did this?...I am in shock! Good for them. I was shocked, to say the least. Glad I didn't just have a full mouth of coffee. What I was not surprised about, was the fact that the story about Nick Berg was not anything but a blip on the front page of A1 yesterday, and today they had the story about how the family thought the US didn't do enough to prevent his death. Now that is typical of the Austin rag. Blame the US for all the evils of the world.

Kennedy embodies the word "Blowhard." He is uninterviewable. Hannity couldn't handle him either. Apparently he thinks if he yells loud enough he'll be believed.
