I don't know the whole story, so I will leave my judement on Berg.
However, the story smellsssssssssssssss
His father's actions are really weird. For one it's not like his son was serving in the army, he wasn't fighting for America or Bush or anything --- at least according to the dad, his son was just over there to make a lot of money. Or else to "help" Iraqis rebuild --- but nothing to do with Bush.
It was Michael Berg's (the father) sister that was married to an Iraqi from Mosul. The sister, Nick Berg's Aunt is deceased but as far as I know, the Iraqi uncle or some other relatives are still in Mosul and he went to visit them while there.
In the interview from outside his home in West Chester, Pennsylvania, a seething Michael Berg also said his 26-year-old son, a civilian contractor, probably would have felt positive, even about his executioners, until the last minute.
You are so right.
I thought 'that poor guy...he surely does not understand what the thing behind him is intending to do to him'.
Nick Berg had a kind of Mona Lisa sort of look on his face.
No matter what the story is, the ending is still the same...an American was beheaded and his death is being used for political propaganda by AlQuaeda and by Democrats and liberals here at home.
No matter how politically active you might be --- if your kid or other loved one was beheaded --- videotaped and all --- screaming for his life --- and you were still in the first grieving stages --- can you imagine how you'd view ANY politician coming to get in on your grief for his/her political gain? You'd kick them right off your doorstep.
Prometheus was a not a fool, but why else would he rebel against Zeus? He tried to trick Zeus (who knows all and sees all) with a false sacrifice. How foolish can you get? Prometheus also stole fire from Zeus and gave it to the primitive mortals on the earth. Zeus did not punish Prometheus alone, he punished the entire world for the effrontery of this rebel god.
Prometheus was the son of Iapetos and Klymene. His name means Forethought.
Hmmm ...
Thanks.
..."wouldn't be surprised to see Kerry carring Berg's head around as a prop for his stump speeches. "
Stump, prop, Berg's head.Even Kerry would see the irony here.
Sounds like the Mosul police chief at best is attempting to play word games. The US spokesman Dan Senor said that Berg was "arrested" on March 24 by the police. The police chief's statement that he knew nothing about the case also stinks to high heaven.
We've got contradictory statements by the US and Iraqi officials and the know nothing statement by the police chief is just a little hard to swallow.
Nick's aunt (his father's sister was married to an Iraqi and she is now deceased). Nick was suppose to be "visiting" that Uncle and his family.
Maybe he was speaking in code that his family would understand. But who knows?????
Uh, you specifically stated he had an Iraqi uncle-in-law, problem being there are no known Iraqis in AQ.
That's not statistically anything except you going off on some tangent.
As I pointed out before, there are many situations where "coincidences' can seem impossible, but they AREN'T.
And that I actually understand --- immediately upon finding out --- but this is several days later --- I can't imagine meeting with a presidential candidate knowing full well he wants to capitalize on my kid's decapitation.
I haven't heard that but it sure makes sense to me.
AUNT. Not sister.
Two e-mails sent by Berg to his family and friends show he had travelled widely and unguarded in areas of Iraq. His father told AP that Nick's paternal aunt, now dead, had married an Iraqi man named Mudafer, who became close to Nick.
In one of the e-mails, Nick Berg described going to Mosul, where he introduced himself to Mudafer's brother, identified as Moffak Mustaffa. "We got along splendidly," Berg wrote.
