This is not outrage. I am too numbed by hatred to be outraged. It is primarily because I have a son about the same age as Nick Berg. When a Fox News reporter described in detail how Nick was murdered I got the same lump in my stomach I had when the doctors came from the ICU and said there was nothing else they could do for my father. But it was the final details of the reporter’s description, obscured in a way by the overall horror which turned me from outrage to absolute hatred.
They butchered that poor boy with a knife. They sliced him, and he was screaming as they did. He continued to scream until they finally cut his head off. I am having as difficult time writing this as I have ever had because as selfish as this may seem, when listening to the details all I could think of was my own son.
This is monstrousness of a type few of us can understand. It is the instant devolution of the human species in a television minute. It is the kind of brutality that breeds hatred the likes of which I cannot put to words. It is what forces me to rejoice at our treatment of the prisoners, our bestial enemies at Abu Ghraib prison, and hope that we return brutality for brutality in a way as unthinkable as that meted out to Nick Berg. But we won't because it is immoral.
But then who are we to talk about morals when it comes to justice for Nick Berg? What great hypocrites we are to condemn the activities at Abu Ghraib in the name of morality. How dare we treat the most brutal, sadistic and cruel enemies we have ever faced with anything remotely connected to a morality they do not know, nor one so removed from the reality here.
Ours is the morality which spawned a multi-billion dollar porno industry. It is the morality which forces God from our own Pledge of Allegiance. It is the morality that justifies murdering millions of innocent babies in more horrible ways than Nick Berg without having to hear their screams. It is our brand of morality which day and night pushes America’s children to emulate the likes of athletes on steroids, misogynistic hip-hop gangsters, degenerate Hollywood actors, actresses, and pop stars through the prism of an out-of-control media; a supposedly democratic society which routinely and consistently allows itself to be debauched by judicial fiat.
Our morality should be based on the Bible's own: an eye for an eye. Let Nick Berg's screams awaken in us the need for a brand of morality which is justification enough to crush our enemy where he lives, sleeps, eats, and prays to his perversion of Almighty God. Stamp him out of existence with no more regard than we would have a disease, for only a disease could deal death so pitilessly.
Nick Berg was someone else's natural boy, but he was mine, and yours too at the same time. His cold-blooded murder, the manner in which it was accomplished should burn white hot in every American’s soul. It should force us to finally swallow the bitter pill of total war, and we should wage it without regard to winning, but to its inexorable, logical conclusion. Either we erase the scourge from the earth, or be erased.
This is not a time for patriotism as much as it is a time for survival. This is not a war to defend who and what we are. We are not what we should be. It is THE war. It is the one beyond any exalted system of government, political ideology, or even religion. It is the most primal struggle, that for mere existence, a struggle for lives, our lives, and it must come at the expense of theirs brutally, forcefully, an eye for an eye.
The screams of that poor, poor boy will ring in my ears for the rest of my life though I did not hear them. But I know them, for they ring familiar to any father who has a son.

I was really outraged at the treatment of the prisoners at Abu Ghraib. The execution of Nick Berg cured me. I'm better now and focused on the enemy again. Nick Berg didn't die in vain.
I think this about sums up my feelings.
...oh, and one more thing.

Rest assured, Peter. President Bush says we'll bring these butchers to justice! Just like he promised we'd bring the Fallujah ghouls to justice.
Well, enough sarcasm. Truth is, two weeks from now, nobody will be talking about Berg. Just like nobody today is talking anymore about our four butchered compatriots in Fallujah.

This put it all into words what has been giving me a headache since I saw and heard Nicks last moments on this earth. We are fighting for our very survival. It's a shame that some people still have not realized this.

This afternoon I heard the audio of the execution. What were the barbaric savages saying? "Allah-u Akbar," over and over and over and over.
Whatever this "Allah" is, he clearly is not the God of the Jews and the Christians. And you can bank on the huge silence from the rest of the Islamic world for proof. (Little squeaks here 'n there don't count.)

Japan's Prisoner of War (POW) Camps
Basic Facts
U.S. prisoners of war held by the Empire of Japan, 1941-1945 died at a rate exceeding 37% while in captivity. On the other hand, U.S. prisoners of war held captive by Nazi Germany died at a rate of less than 2% while held by the Germans. (Based on figures from Center For Internee Rights).
Japan's war prisoner guards were largely Japanese, however, Formosan (Taiwanese) and Korean guards were also integrated into the guard forces.
Escapes were rare. Unlike the situation in Europe, the mostly Caucasian Allied prisoners could not mingle among Asians without instant recognition. Furthermore, the local Asian populations were subjected to severe reprisals from the Japanese when helping Allied POW. There was at least one notable successful rescue attempt, at Cabanatuan in the Philippines late in the war [ Daws, p. 324.] Surviving U.S. prisoners-of-war almost to a man consider the dropping of the atomic bombs on Japan as a successful rescue. Tokyo had issued orders to kill all prisoners-of-war by 1945 [ Daws, p. 324-325.].
All U.S. and Allied POW were subjected to slave labor, cruel and unusual punishments and medical experiments [ see Unit 731 ]. Many of the Japanese war crimes afflicted upon Allied POW were brushed aside by Japan and Allied governments following World War II during the headlong rush to stop Soviet expansion in Asia.
In 1997, former POW and civilian internees continued seeking redress from Japan for the war crimes. The U.S. State Department issued a watch list for Japanese war criminals. In the U.S., The Center For Internee Rights is leading the fight.

In a way I can understand why the author rejoices at the treatment of the prisoners. Perhaps he is thinking that anything we can do to break down that monstrous culture should be done.
As for the Bible, it says the following:

The Apostle John goes on to describe Mohammadans and Islam and it's practices and who is behind Islam:

Because his works were evil and his brother's righteous.
As I stated in another thread, that Jesus compares Christianity to Islam this way:
