Troops Cheer Rumsfeld's Blast at Media

"I've stopped reading newspapers," Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said today to the troops in Abu Ghraib, Iraq. "You've got to keep your sanity somehow. I'm a survivor."

The wire services did relate that remark. What they didn't admit was the loud cheers rising from the GIs.

Fortunately, we saw (and heard) the footage on Fox News.

The Secretary of Defense is in charge of the military (as directed by the President) and the troops love him. Who gives a damn what some losers from Boston think?

Youn can bet on it. That John Kerry (whose only thing to offer is that he was in Vietnam) would never ever be warmly welcomed by the troops like Rumsfeld.

Gee hope CBS news covered this. Since I hold them personally responsible for causing this country and it's troops damage that can not be measured.

Who do you think the troops respect? Navy pilot Rummy, or Chappaquiddick Fats?

I am reminded of the bumper-sticker a few years back that went something like:

"Don't like cops? Try calling a hippie."

These weasels on the lib side are not worthy of protection from our fighting forces.

The bottom line is this: the chickensh*t conservatives like David Brooks and some people at National Review and Weekly Standard are running for cover.

Meanwhile we are continuing to KICK ASS in Iraq.

For the last few weeks in Iraq, American casualties have plunged, even as Fallujah has been secured and Al-Sadr's mens die like dogs.

Our guys have opened up the can of whoop ass on the terrorist scum in Iraq. The media's fixation on the prison scandal is actually a good thing, because when the June 30 handover occurs, the media will be forced to report that to the American people that they were lying about how things were going in Iraq. The media will discredit themselves.

We are on track. Stay the course. Do not waver. Do not give in. Stay on target.

Thank God for President Bush. He has steel in his blood. He is going to finish the job in Iraq.

Short, sweet, to the point, well-said. Bump.

Chappaquiddick Fats?

My nomination for remark of the day, week, month! That is a good one!

Considering doing the same (well, unsubscribing from the ever-more-liberal local rag). Will note those who buy two-page spread ads, write a letter to them and the advertising&circulation at the paper, with a CC to the newsroom, about why I'm unsubscribing. Figure that will have near-maximum impact.

Yes, the troops do love him, and they love President Bush.

This begs the question, why doesn't that great Vietnam war hero, Jean Francois Kerry, visit the troops in Iraq or Afghanistan??? Hmmmmm????

Do we dare opine that he realizes he might not be well-received?

I canceled my subscription to the Boston Globe this morning at 7:01, after more than 20 years. This was the absolute last straw.

I heard some of the soldiers comments on the abuse. I'd rather see some of these soldiers (kids as Kapinski calls them) in Congress than what we have. It's called common sense, duty, family and country.

Hats off to our Military AND the present leadership.

John F'ing Kerry may be somewhat afraid of "friendly fire."

I think Boston is loserville, too. But there are a lot of people in this country who just love JohnEffinKerry and his ilk. I can't get over the fact that practically all of Massachusetts, and about half of the rest of the country, are dumbass Democrats.

Kerry would get the same "frosty reception" the Abu Ghraib prisoners gave Rummy today. LOL!!!
