From the third week of February through March 12, Berg and three of his employees built an FM transmission tower and transmission lines on Ingraham Road for Citadel Broadcasting's WHWK.

"Berg's company installed antennae and radio transmission lines."

I do not want to demean Berg...He may have been a genius,
but building towers and installing antennas does not require a degree in anything.
Towers are mostly pre engineered and manufactured.
They go together like an erector set.
Many tower jockeys know little or nothing about radio.
They are just good at climbing and bolting sections together.

I have hired many freelance people to do this work. Some are very good at what they do, but when it comes to the radio end, they are lost.

Have all of these other students who let this monster use their email turned up? Have they been questioned? Anyone know? I haven't seen any evidence of that so far.

HMMMM, is right.

Actually I agree with them, this should have been leading the news. Certainly an American citizen getting his head sawed off on TV by Islamic subhumans should have had more lead time than a naked terrorist with panties on his still intact head. These people are obviously not aware of the liberal bias in the news, and that the media was using the "abuse" to bring down the President.

Actually, I had the same thoughts about the lack of blood. However, I attributed it to the editing of the video (2 cameras), with the one showing his head being held up being a later reinactment of a previously botched job.

Ashcroft released a statement today saying he had no knowledge of any connection of Berg to Al Qaeda or any terrorist organization.

But then the CIA or special ops may not communicate every detail of classified field info to the secretary general.

If it serves it's purpose to allow the Berg whacking to "Wag the Donkey" and draw the media poodles off the GrabanArab scandal , then the Berg wacking serves it's purpose well. It connect Al Qaeda to Iraq . Why isn't Bush on TV doing a jig saying "told you so"

Hmmmmm...............

I would be thrilled at the thought that some level of our government could keep a secret of any kind these days.
If the Bergmeister was a double spy then he got paid in full. The Bonus was to help draw the media poodles off our troops.

WILD SPECULATION ALERT ,.... this Abu Garib scandle sure smells like a Larry Flynt production , Throw me a bone here ?
This guy has the ways and mean$ to pull this off.

>>Was there a bus? <<

Yes, why mention a bus at all? It seems to be a needless embellishment, typically thrown in to add to the believability of a lie.

And *IF* (and I do mean *IF*) Nick Berg was working with the terrorists, I have zero sympathy for him.

Re: Accessing e-mail from bus: My husband uses a satellite card, works without a land line. Am not geekish enough to describe it better, I just know I used it from our motorhome a few days ago, and though slow (56K, I think), it got me to FR for a fix.

Berg's encounter with 'terrorist' revealed

WEST CHESTER, Pennsylvania (CNN) -- When Nicholas Berg took an Oklahoma bus to a remote college campus a few years ago, the American recently beheaded by terrorists allowed a man with terrorist connections to use his laptop computer, according to his father.

Government sources told CNN that the encounter involved an acquaintance of Zacarias Moussaoui -- the only person publicly charged in the United States in connection with the September 11, 2001, terror attacks.

According to Berg, his son was taking a course a few years ago at a remote campus of the University of Oklahoma near an airport. He described how on one particular day, his son met "some terrorist people -- who no one knew were terrorists at the time."

At one point during the bus ride, Berg said, the man sitting next to his son asked if he could use Nick's laptop computer.

"It turned out this guy was a terrorist and that he, you know, used my son's e-mail, amongst many other people's e-mail who he did the same thing to," Berg said.

Government sources said Berg gave the man his password, which was later used by Moussaoui, the sources said.

The sources said the man who used Berg's e-mail knew Moussaoui, now awaiting trial on federal charges that could bring a death sentence. But the sources would not disclose details of how the men were connected. ...

Berg said his son cooperated fully with an FBI investigation into the matter.

"He was happy to cooperate, and that was never an issue," he said. He emphasized that the individual was not a friend of his son's or even an acquaintance -- "just a guy sitting next to him on the bus."

.............

Riding the bus, does that mean he didn't own a car?

Frankly, I'd be hesitant to climb any towers in Iraq, for fear of being seen by an American sniper, and assumed to be an enemy mortar forward controller. Sniper asks on the radio net: Big Dog, this is Sasquatch. We got any friendlies up that tower at YF47568347? Nope? No friendlies? Okay, I'm going to drop him."

Day, or night.

My big problem with Berg giving his password to a stranger (strange by it's self), is Nick was a engineering student, so why not set up a free hotmail account for the guy.

Oh yet this all occurred during a bus ride.

What we know of the e-mail affair comes from his father, who I think is a world class flake(probably blond). So, I doubt it happened as his father tells it and the FBI isn't going to tell us either.
