Worldwide Day of Prayer for the Assyrian Christians of Iraq, Sunday, May 16, 2004
A Worldwide Day of Prayer for the 2.5 Million Assyrian Christians of Iraq has been set.
Christians worldwide are asked to pray for the long persecuted Assyrian Christian Community in Iraq. As the original people of Iraq and the first nation to accept Christianity following the death of Christ and the greatest missionary sending nation in history having brought the gospel to China, Japan and Asia.
Prayer is being asked for the following:
1. Delay of the proposed June 30 handover in Iraq until a secular constitution, elections and government can be established as the only way to protect Christians.
2. Autonomy and special rights as the indigenous people of Iraq for all Assyrian Christians.
3. Removal of the words `Islam is the official religion of the state` from the Iraqi constitution.
4. Prayer for spiritual revival and awakening in the Assyrian Christian Community worldwide.

Thanks for this information Lily. I will remember these requests and the believers in Iraq in my prayers this Sunday.
What the world ignores is that the "Golden Age of Islam" was a result of what Muslims stole from the Assyrians. The very credit they get for advancements in Math and Science, existed hundreds of years before Islam within this society.
Please pray for our Christian brothers and sisters in Iraq.
I will be praying. Thank you for reminding us.
I hope you start a thread on that day, and will ping us.
Paul
thankyou for the info,
i'll forward this to the saints.
GODSPEED
Dear Lord, we ask your blessings on our Christian brothers and sisters in Iraq. Keep them safe from home and in the center of your will. We ask these blessings in Your Son's Precious Name, Amen.
As requested I have started a new thread titled "Today Iraqi Assyrian Christians Request Prayer." Thank you for upholding your brothers and sisters in Christ.
I hope that this reminder was the correct way to get the message out. I have been reading FR for five years but I am just now beginning to post. If there is a better way to get the word out, I glady would accept correction.
I am heading off to church now, but will make sure that Rev. Ken Joseph reads your comments and prayers.
