"The O'Franken Factor" had been good that day. Good guests. Good energy. Things were looking up. Obviously spin.

The fledgling network continues to add new cities to its roster along with real advertisers such as Walgreens and Kay Jewelers (instead of public service announcements). Experts say its Internet presence -- drawing as many as 80,000 listeners an hour at http://www.airamericaradio.com-- is unparalleled. "Air America is far bigger than any other radio network's presence on the Internet," said Kurt Hanson, editor of RAIN, a radio and Internet newsletter. "It is the biggest success story for a U.S. broadcaster to date." All other successful broadcast enterprises have achieved their success over the airwaves, not dial up telephone lines. Who are these people trying to kid?

>> The good news was that their paychecks, delayed for 24 hours, would now be distributed.
So, delayed paychecks and they're scraping to get even that. The writer has a rather peculiar grasp of "good news."

"It turned out there wasn't as much money as Evan said there was," Franken said. "That's why we're hitting a temporary little rough patch and why he's gone. Some heroes have come in and are keeping us going, and hopefully this will get restructured." Hmm, wonder who they could be?

I listen to them on XM. Thy are so mean and nasty and negative they get past the point of absurdity and it's almost funny.
Air America reminds me of professional wrestling. The people that play the "bad guys". You hear them yelling and saying things that are just so absurd. You expect them to stop at some point and say "hey, it's just an act!". But they don't.
The main reason Air America will eventually go belly up is that they are just not any fun. There is nothing positive about them. All they do is moan and groan and gripe and bitch. They remind me of the Mr. Wilson character on Dennis the Menace.

I know those words, but that sentence doesn't make any sense.

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that AA deducted health insurance premiums from the paycheck of Chicago staffers but were never enrolled in a health insurance plan, although AA promised coverage. AA President, Jon Sinton said that if the insurance has lapsed, it will be restored.
Lapsed? They were never enrolled! These people are buffoons.

Attention Libs:
Your idealistic campaign to bring enlightenment to the benighted slobs of Radio America is a failure. You are sinking daily into an ever deeper quagmire. You need to internationalize your radio network before it's too late. Call it Air France, and get out now, while you still can.

I think their demise is grossly overstated. There should be no problem here once the true liberal believers understand the issues. Streisand, Redford, Chomsky, the Wellstone estate, Gere and all the other really wealthy believers in truth, beuty and freedom will surely kick in the funds necessary to sustain this noble effort.
No, really. Someone has to pay the salaries of these alternative performers, for their habits and their lavish life styles. This is a test for the rich folks in the Malibu compounds.
And, many needy folks are relying on the ultra-wealthy left (especially those who need more tax deductions for their foundations). All those organizations who need a voice are relying on Air America for free air time for their important messages. They are forced to be silent because no one else believes their messages are important and they don't have the money to afford air time. Air America is for them!! Golly, if I were a wealthy liberal Al, I'd fund you! Babs?
