They do indeed...Here in New York, muslim children had a "room" set aside for them during Ramadan. Of course, it was a prayer room.

they have a church, right? the noise ordinance has been changed, why can't the church ring its bells every day at the same time as the call to prayer?

He was one of the best academics/senators we've ever had.

He put that corpulent lush Daniel Patrick Moynihan and that skeletal, ossified, racist from West Virginia to shame.

If only California had a few more statesmen like him today.

In many Arab capitals you can often hear a prayer to destroy the infidels (non-Moslems) and the Jews, the enemies of God, over loudspeakers that are often used as tools of incitement and indoctrination.

And what will stop them from doing that here?

Our state of Michigan crumbles first in the face of Islam.

The U.P. is still standing.

It will take some time for the decay to reach up here.

Most Muslim just look a their watches or the clock at work. A friend of mine who's a doctor actually has his beeper timed to buzz him when it's time. I once met a business man who showed me his watch which not only had an alarm but a compass, so no matter where he is in the world, he'll know where and when to pray.

The point isn't noise pollution, however; the larger issue here is the constitutionally guaranteed separation of church and state which is being broached here. Announcing prayers over the loudspeaker in a public municpality is an even greater violation of this principle than leading prayer at sports games, or in the schools.

What a complete coincidence!

I just formed a new religion called, "Islam is a malignant cancer on freedom". Part of my new religion is to broadcast on the hour for every waking hour, "Islam is a malignant cancer on freedom".

As luck would have it, I'm dedicated my first house of prayer in Hamtrack Michigan.

Great idea...all the churches could ring at once.

I totally agree with you. I don't live in MI but there is no way I would have allowed this happen in my township.

The time is now to stop this before it spreads across the USA. If they are so devoted to Islam, then they should not need to be called to prayer... not even once!

During some parts of the year in the latitudes of the United States, the first muslim prayer of the day takes place at 4:30 AM!!!! The noise nuisance--and health effects of disrupted sleep--are obvious!!!!

Why didn't we hear Islamic condemnation of the 9/11 attacks at the same volume they want to use for their call to prayers? Do these same people think that the murder of 3000 innocent Americans were not wrong in the eyes of God?

This is a few weeks old and no he didnt make it up. Ive mentioned it several times in the last couple of weeks because of the Berg murder.

The muslims in Hamtramck have been very vocal in getting their call to prayer, but silent in their oposition of terrorism.

There are noise ordinances that prohibit things like early morning or late night noise (construction, mowing, etc.). Hearing an amplified public broadcast of prayers at 6am or 10pm are likely to wake at least some people up.
