Statement by U.S. Sen. John Ensign (R-NV) Regarding John Kerry’s Campaigning in Nevada
George W. Bush ^ | May 16, 2004

WASHINGTON, DC— U.S. Sen. John Ensign (R-NV) issued the following statement regarding John Kerry’s campaigning in Nevada today:

"John Kerry has been in the Senate for a long time – long enough to vote for higher taxes at least 350 times. Kerry’s plan for $1.9 trillion in new government spending doesn’t add up and would mean higher taxes for all Americans. Kerry promises to roll back the President’s pro-growth policies that helped create more than 625,000 jobs over the past two months.

"America needs strong and steady leadership, not uncertainty and opportunism. Days after addressing union members in Michigan and Ohio last month, Kerry told the Wall Street Journal that he understands and supports companies moving American jobs overseas. Kerry disavowed his previous attacks on 'Benedict Arnold' CEOs, blaming them on his speechwriters. Americans know better than to trust a politician who has one message for CEOs and another message for workers.

"John Kerry's plans for higher taxes and more government spending would put America's hardest working families on the road to nowhere. The President's pro-growth policies helped create over 625,000 jobs during the past two months. John Kerry's plans for higher taxes, more regulation and more litigation would hurt business and destroy jobs.”

John Ensign is a good guy. I went to several of his campaign rallies when I lived in Las Vegas and he was running. Nevada needs to keep him around.

John Ensign is a good guy.

He sides with the enviro-whacknuts in obstructing the operation of Yucca Mountain nuclear waste depository.

I won't vote for the jack@$$ based on that issue.
Our nation has been jerked around by the OPECkers for over 30 years.
It's RINO weasels like John Ensign who obstruct our efforts to become more energy independent.

While both sides show their contempt for the American worker, at least Kerry troubles to lie about it. Jorge simply blesses business efforts to abandon this nation and it's people.

That is not enviro-nuttism, it is local politics.

And there are some valid reasons to oppose the siting, with the site not meeting the requirements.

But the reality is that it WILL end up in Nevada, and Nevada should be compensated by the other 49 just as any other landfill location is.

How about we put the siting up for bid? The state with a qualified location that offers the lowest bid gets the site? or did you want to send your stuff to another state without paying the citizens of that state?

It is a shame Laxalt retired. Now there was a class act, who incidently would have made a terrific president.
