It isn't......for example, in your spelling of the word you left out the 13 syllables. as sin shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

It's on accounta we pronounced it with a short vowel on the second syllable long before we knew what it meant.

Hey - Didn't you know that southerners are the ONLY ones who pronounce "Shi'ite" correctly? Rhymes with "sit"!
