What happened to Bob Kerrey
Posted on 05/18/2004 10:37:29 AM PDT by lawnguy
I used to respect Bob Kerrey, but he has become a complete grandstanding jerk, pandering in the worst way.
A few years ago, Fred Barnes wrote in the Weekly Standard that Kerrey was the "last respectable democrat".(Pre Zell Miller) So much for that.

Kerrey runs the New School in NYC doesn't he? That is as hard core openly marxist as they come. That should tell you something.
To: dfwgator
LIEberman is hardly respectable. He excoriated His Slickness in the well of the Senate...
and then acquitted him.

Lieberman is the only respectable Democrat left. If you saw the speech on CSPAN last night by House Minority Whip to an American Israeli confrence, you would include that democrat.
That guy absolutly laid down a scathing attack on terrorists, Arafat, Palestinians, Saudi Arabia....it was amazing.
The place broke into standing ovations multiple times, and when he concluded, the applause was 10 Minutes long.

Lieberman is the only respectable Democrat left. No, Lieberman does not deseerve this honor after campaign 2000.
This honor has been earned by Zell Miller.

That guy absolutly laid down a scathing attack on terrorists, Arafat, Palestinians, Saudi Arabia....it was amazing. John Kerry does that too. But then when speaking to an arab audience, he attacks Israel.

So, are you a registered Democrat? Anything I have read from Kerrey in days past indicate he has only gotten worse, and he was rotten to begin with.
To: keysguy
Zell Miller is a pretty good dem, but when I read his book, I learned that he went out of his way to help boost candidate Clinton when it looked like clinton was tanking in his first presidential bid.

No I'm not a democrat, but I held Kerrey to a higher standard than the average kool-aid socialist type that infests his party now.
Good point about Lieberman though, I do give him credit for holding fast on the war.

Ok.
To me, Miller is probably the last somewhat respectable Democrat left.
To: dfwgator
Let's not forget Zell Miller when we talk about respectable Democrats.
