And these Brits embarrassed the goons and thugs, humiliating them by killing so many when so fiercely outnumbered! How dare they intimidate the thugs and murderers! Next we'll hear they made the captives wear women's undies on their heads ... oh the horror!

Your point is well taken. You posted me something on another thread about a separate military operation in which you drew the same analogy.
Israel should be able to defend itself without giving up half its territory, just as the U.S. defends itself. Honestly, when the War on Terror winds down, we (the U.S.) need to become less involved in that part of the world on either side, IMHO.
