There are some bogus quotes (most notably the Brady "socialism" quote) mixed up with real quotes in #6.

GunCite refers to these as "pious frauds" -- as in too good to be true.

The link to the guncite page (originally compiled by Clayton Cramer) is here:

Thank you sir. I hate quoting something and having it turn out to be false. It makes me feel like such a dunce.

Apparently it does not have the same effect on liberals.

Best Regards

Sergio

Pleased to be of service.

I find the gun control "debate" intriguing for many reasons, not the least of which is the pro-control side's refusal to honestly state their reasons for wanting to ban the private ownership of guns, and the astonishing repetition of the same stale lies, over and over again. "A gun the the home is 43 times more likely to kill the homeowner than a criminal" "12 children a day are killed by guns" "Waiting periods are effective at reducing crimes of passion"... the list is always the same, and all are plain, bald-faced lies.

The practical upshot, of course, is that to win the logical argument, all we have to do is avoid making errors of fact that can then be twisted to distract from the fundamental poverty of the pro-control thesis.
