Write-In's Not Just for MLB All-Star Voting Anymore
For Bush or Against Bush...
A Kerry in office would come back to bite the Demo's hard in a 2008 election. Someone even less charasmatic than Bush & with no solid plan on how to make for a better US is certainly no way for a party to gain ground with the American public -though it'd be hard to lose any more popularity points overseas. And either way, it's a no-win for the American public for either of these two to win the November vote.
On paper, Bush & Kerry are essentially the same type of people. Simply, opportunists that didn't create anything of their own, but leached off of the success of others. George Dub with mommy & daddy Bush and Kerry with his harem of widowed moguls. Bush managed to snort coke & drink heavily. Kerry managed to go overboard in anti-war efforts during the Vietnam war -tossing out medals & attending outrageous anti-war parties instead of speaking coherently about the precise reasons action should have or should not have been taken (hardly the Yale educated protege).
Of course, the similarities don't end with a mis-spent youth & a dubious road to becoming leaders of the free world. This facade of a battling duo was preceeded by their years as drinking buddies in the prestigious Skull & Bones fraternity of Yales hollowed ground. Bush, the elder, in '66, and Kerry in '68. And, as witnessed during Clinton's reign, it's hard for even the most ideologically opposed folks to really have bad feelings towards a good drinking buddy -unless there are some extracurricular and extramarital issues going on.
Bush certainly shouldn't be rewarded for his exploits. Sweeping in the Patriot Act -a dastardly move to say the least, virtual amnesty for illegal immigrants, and the "no child left behind" joke, are as unimpressive as Bush in charge of a multi-million dollar company.
The question here is simply "Can a new person in office handle a war situation without serious consequence to American citizens & the citizens of allied nations?
If the answer is no, then there's really no choice but to stay with Bush.
If the answer is yes, then it's a damn good year for a write-in vote...

No need for a write-in candidate when confused old biddies in Florida can't find the right punch hole, even with an arrow pointing to the correct one.
Now, if you could get everyone to agree on writing in the SAME NAME, be my guest. Since this is your postulation, who do you want?
Clark? Buchanan? Keyes? McCain? Dean? Who???
Actually, Alan Keyes is a great choice. He did an excellent job as Ambassador, and is well documented in his defense of the ideals that has traditionally been upheld by the Republican Party. He speaks well, doesn't avoid the issues -but actually digs deeper into each issue, and has experience representing our nation on the world level.
And, if Alan Keyes isn't suitable to your palette, California Senator Tom McClintock is another no-nonsense individual that has a background of defending citizens against illegal taxation, is adimate about the need for smaller government, and is about as fiscally responsible as they come.
If these are inflammatory or radical comments, then consider it a very sad state for the Republican party. A large number of programs put into place by the current administration are absolutely *NOT* of the traditional standpoints of the Republican party. When such radical deviations become the norm, they demand not only criticism, but correction. Fortunately, there are strong options (including Keyes & McClintock) that would represent the values we've held dear quite well and would make for a brighter American future.
Not to me. I've voted for Keyes and would have voted for McClintock if I were a Californian.
However, I disagree that this is the year to look for a write-in candidate. Although, as a Texan, it's a foregone conclusion that Bush will win my state so I could vote for Mickey Mouse if I so desired and it wouldn't effect the end result.
