WASHINGTON, May 21 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Republican National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie issued the following statement today regarding MoveOn.org's decision to make the Iraqi prisoner abuse issue the subject of a new political ad, which includes images of a hooded Statue of Liberty:
"This may excite the Michael Moore, George Soros, Nancy Pelosi, Ted Kennedy wing of John Kerry's party, but the exploitation of this event for partisan purposes is a political calculation that Kerry's team has made and time will tell if voters are inspired or repulsed by the denigration of the Statue of Liberty and the U.S. Military."

We are still trying to figure out why moveon is running pro-Susan Collins (R) Maine ads.
So they can use prisoner images but how dare President Bush use 9-11 images.
Sounds good to me (Gillespie that is). Seems they've been getting their rebuttals out faster than they used to, just like they said they would.
Bingo. It will only appeal to those who are convinced that Bush is Satan, as if those people were going to sit out the election or something. It will turn off moderate voters, who will see it as an attack on the troops. I can imagine that they tested it before a focus group--a focus group composed of MoveOn's own membership.
Where is the FEC on MoveOn and the other lib groups??
Turning a blind eye?
The hags and fat maggots wing?
They just voted to make them legal, by a 4 to 2 vote. One of the Republicans, Bradley Smith(?), the chairman, caved.
That was a green light for Republicans to set up their own 527's and the money is starting to flow.
Smith opposes campaign finance reform legislation on principle, so it's not an issue of him caving; he proceeded based on his beliefs.
In the end I think it will be a pyrrhic victory for the Dems; the GOP is now free to go hog-wild on the 527s and the GOP will be able to raise more money.
Welcome to the Soviet Union. |
Is George Soros a citizen of the United States?
