Now, some questions.

If I were to blacken my face and poke fun at African Americans, could I not be sued for committing a hate crime?

If men were to petition the government to make public restrooms intended for women available to men, should the government pass legislation to comply to the demand?

Or, what of women, should they have equal access to restrooms intended for men when their restrooms are overcrowded?

If Christians were to assemble 5 times daily and mock the Muslim call to prayer, could they be collectively sued for committing a hate crime? Should the government pass such legislation making such a practice lawful?

Should women have the right to use the title Mister before their name, or men the right to use the title Misses?

If I were to mock the behavior of a homosexual, could I not be sued for committing a hate crime?

Now, the final questions. Is the effort by homosexuals for marriage a hate crime? If so, is the government sanctioning the hate crime? Is the government exempt from class action suits involving hate crimes where the government is an active participant?

Was the federal government liable for restitution to Japanese Americans interned during WWII? I only ask this question as the result of a class action law suit did go favorably for the interned Japanese Americans.

We've many institutions and customs in our society that are intended exclusively for select parts of our society. Keeping them exclusive is by no means discriminatory. These institutions and customs are actually the underlying strength of our nation.

I wonder why no one has initiated suits on behalf of married heterosexual couples against any government, local, state, or federal, that has perpetuated the hate crime same sex marriage is?

If I recall correctly, the hate crime statute was written with injury or harm to individuals in mind. It would be difficult to extend it to a group without being able to show intention to commit and the actual evidence of such harm.

Such harm would not be recognized by the very people who sanctioned this behavior, in this case, the Mass. Supreme judges.

In other words, pursuing this through the judiciary is useless, since the judiciary is already biased against our side.

A better way would be to pursue a constitutional amendment.

What percentage of votes do you think this is going to mean for the Prez? A gain of 1 or 2 percent? No affect? What? I think the B/C '04 campaign really needs to flush out Kerry on gay marriage and the issue of reparations for descendants of slaves. It's a win/win for GW and a lose/lose situation for John Fonda Kerry.

Homosexual Agenda Ping - The Pope continues to speak the truth. Reuters gives it a weird twist, though. The use of the word "hererosexual" is misleading - I wonder when it was invented, anyone know?

It makes it sound as though there's two kinds of people - homosexuals, and then those heterosexuals.

There's humans who are normal and those who have Same Sex Attraction Disorder.

Let me know if anyone wants on/off this pinglist.

"The Church teaches that the love of man and woman made holy in the sacrament of marriage is a mirror of God's everlasting love for his creation," he said.

The bible says that marriage is a reflection of Christ and His Church.

Man/Woman equals potential procreativity.....Children raised up for God. The same with Christ & His Church....Children raised up for God.

Since there is no potential in a male/male relationship and only disease, then the message is narcissism, pride, and wasting away without replication.

Destruction.

In other news, His Holiness also stated that water was wet, pi approximately equals 3.14159, and the earth is round.

The media goes berzerk, questioning his grounds for saying so. 42 American politicians sign a letter stating that this is a threat to the separation of math and state, geography and state, and dryness and state.

Reuters does not need to be excerpted.

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Pope John Paul on Saturday repeated the Roman Catholic Church's opposition to homosexual marriage after Massachusetts became the first U.S. state to allow same-sex marriage.

"Family life is sanctified in the joining of man and woman in the sacramental institution of holy matrimony," he said in an address to visiting American bishops.

"The Church teaches that the love of man and woman made holy in the sacrament of marriage is a mirror of God's everlasting love for his creation," he said.

They were believed to be the pope's first public comments on marriage since Massachusetts on Monday joined Belgium, the Netherlands and three Canadian provinces in legalizing gay marriage.

President Bush, who will meet the pope in Rome on June 4, favors a constitutional amendment banning such unions.

The 84-year-old pope told the bishops it was "fundamental that Christian marriage be comprehended in the fullest sense and be presented both as a natural institution and a sacramental reality."
