Federal Government Recommendations on Gay Men Donating Sperm 'Look Like They Were Written in 1982, not 2004,' Lambda Legal Says
(New York, May 20, 2004) Lambda Legal denounced recommendations that the Food and Drug Administration issued today to block men from making sperm donations if they have had sex with other men in the last five years.
Lambda Legal issued the following statement from Executive Director Kevin Cathcart:
"The federal government issued recommendations today that look like they were written in 1982, not 2004. There is absolutely nothing about this proposal that's based on science or medicine -- this is a policy based on bigotry. The government's recommendations are discriminatory and defy common sense. It's completely illogical to say that a gay monogamous man who practiced safe sex four years ago cannot be a sperm donor, but a heterosexual man who had high-risk unprotected sex 14 months ago can donate his sperm. There are already procedures in place to ensure that donated sperm is safe, no matter who donated it. HIV affects every part of our nation's population, and the F.D.A. needs to realize that fact and stop treating gay men as the only people who contract HIV."
In December 2003, Lambda Legal submitted a 13-page letter to the federal government, outlining serious concerns and suggestions about the proposed new regulations for sperm donors. That letter is at:

If you want to be hypertechnical in the vein of Lambda legal, it does not say homosexuals or gay, it just said the BEHAVIOR of homosexual sex.
Odd that a reproductively dead end group would insist on donating sperm and reproducing. Yet another effort to disconnect reproduction from the sex act.

1982? Back when AIDS was an emerging disease, the blood bank authorities were trying to ban blood donations from gays, and gay organizations were screaming discrimination?
Lock up the kids and the barnyard animals people. The next victim group will be demanding recognition of goat marriages? Not baaaaaaad. And don't forget about NAMBLA.
Why did they choose 1982? because around that time Haitians were baned from donating blood because they were of a high HIV rate. Because of politics, the designation was removed (this was after the testing of all blood was adopted).
I remember reading that not all sperm banks test for aids.
This is homosexual just fighting against judgments which are based on the fact homosexual behavior is detrimental to society and the individual.

The final analysis is simple: the gays can't have it both ways. Either their condition is genetic, in which case, banning sperm donation is a reasonable restriction, or their "condition" is behavioral choice, in which case, there is no reason for society not to regulate their behavior just as it regulates any other behavior.

Sodomy is a mortal sin and a hideous felony, not a genetic disease.
But hideous criminals and sex offenders should be banned from donating sperm. They should be in jail.
The crux is that HIV is a behavior driven transmission. The problem for homosexual advocates is that entire homosexual lifestyle IS a primary means of transmission. Their homosexuality is THE reason for their high incidence.
Are there other ways to transmit? Absolutly? However as you say, as long as your choose not to participate in the homosexual lifestyle your chances of contracting aids, per the CDC, are higher than you being struck by lightning.
However, lightning is not a slow, tortured, and agonizingly drawn out 100% death sentence. The bottom line is that AIDS is now a cash industry for the homosexuals.
