Amen.
Lord, these are difficult times, times in which only you are in control. This nation is riven to its core, and acrimony is high.
Please grant to the president wisdom not only to know what to do, but also what to say to convey the vision America must follow. Grant to the troops good success and a safe and early exit. Grant to the Iraqis, Afghans, and others the understanding that they have a unique historical opportunity before them to achieve a free society.
Most of all, use these circumstances to advance your Gospel, the only means by which men can be free. Father God, our strength lies only in basing our structures and our lives upon your Word. America is implicity, and even explicitly, a Christian nation, and when she abandons her roots she places herself in peril. Let her be a beacon to other people, that the winsome virtues of your Gospel would shine forth. May souls be saved and lives changed.
Do it all for your glory, and that of your Son.
