Liberal thinking may be catching up with the press, according to a survey of 547 journalists released Sunday.
The poll found that only 7 percent of the nationally based journalists called themselves "conservatives" while 34 percent described themselves as liberal and 54 percent as moderate.

But it's really worse than it appears to be on the surface- there is a basic dishonesty underlying all these media types who are 9 out of 10 left-wing, yet routinely claim to be "objective."
I much prefer to deal with people who are openly partisan- at least you know where they are coming from.

They actually thought a poll was needed to determine that the vast majority of news reporters are libs???
They are the Media Wing of the Socialist Movement. Of course they are all going to be 100% Liberal. What's the big deal?
When the press got accused and convicted of bias, nothing happened! Therefore, they were encouraged.
BTW I've never met a "moderate" that wasn't a liberal....just too embarrassed by the label to admit it.
I think your figure is the more important one.
50% claim to be "moderates" of COURSE - but how did they vote? 90% voting for the democrat is far more telling.
