Christian Group Warning Orlando Visitors about Disney's 'Gay Days'
Agape Press ^ | May 25, 2004 | Jenni Parker

Posted on 05/25/2004 1:28:29 PM PDT by Cracker72

(AgapePress) - A Christian activist group has developed a three-point strategy to warn unsuspecting families coming to Orlando, Florida, about the very family-unfriendly homosexual pride festival known as "Gay Days at Walt Disney World."

The Christian Action Network (CAN) is engaging in an all-out effort to inform families, school groups, and others of what they can expect from the homosexual event long before they enter the so-called Magic Kingdom. The group plans to use literature, road signs, and even a mobile advertisement to get the word out about the offensive and often X-rated goings on at the Walt Disney World theme park during Gay Days, which CAN says is scheduled for June 3-6, 2004.

Martin Mawyer, president of CAN, calls the public information campaign "a victory for unsuspecting families who do not want their children exposed to homosexual nudity, fondling, groping, kissing, and sex acts." And, he adds, "it is a defeat for the Disney Company, which refuses to notify them."

Mawyer notes that CAN has been asking Disney officials for six years to warn unsuspecting families and groups arriving during Gay Days, but the company has refused. Now, he says, since Disney has refused to issue a warning, CAN will.

In order to educate the public about Gay Days at Walt Disney World, the Christian group will take a three-pronged approach. The effort involves posting large road signs around the Orlando area that read: "Warning! Gay Days at Disney in June"; having a van drive up and down Interstate 4 with a similar warning and the specific dates of the homosexual celebration; and distributing pamphlets at the Orlando International Airport informing families about the kinds of things to which families and children would be exposed in public areas of the park during the homosexual celebration.

The pamphlet gives a detailed listing of some of the decadence actually scheduled for this year's Gay Days, including a homosexual parade, a "Gay and Lesbian Youth Meeting," poolside and "Foam" parties, and events described as "Taboo Magic Hour," "Lesbo-a-Go-Go," and "Pixie Flix" for "homo-Nuerotic fun." The literature also notes that extreme nudity and sex acts are to be expected at many of these events, and tells potential visitors to be aware that anyone wearing red clothing may be taken for a participant in the homosexual celebration.

"Our warning program will definitely be more effective and sweeping than anything Disney would volunteer to do," CAN's president says. In fact, he feels the information campaign is an even better solution than the company posting warning signs at the entrance of the park.

"The strategy of Christian Action Network will warn these families long before they reach Disney entrance gates," Mawyer says, "and it will give thousands of families an opportunity to revise their plans in Orlando."

If this does happen, I'd like to see proof in the form of digital pics & videos.

No videos here, but there are some pictures.

Yep. Pretty Pricey. If attendance starts to drop, it will get even worse.

I hear ya. We can't even afford to go to a baseball game anymore unless the library is giving away seats in the nosebleed section.

Of course, now that we live in Oklahoma, ironically home of many great ball players (think Mickey Mantle), there is no home team to root for so this is a moot point.

Actually, it says there's a video there, but I can't get it to load. Let me know if you have any luck with it.

Does anyone really believe this overblown rhetoric? Somehow I don't really see anyone running around naked at Disney World committing sex acts.....

Follow the links others gave you. You are wrong. They are right.

WONDERFUL. We wound up in Orlando during this crap a few years back. We had never planned to go to Disney--I cannot in good conscience support a company that so wholeheartedly embraces and supports such sick perversion--but it was CERTAINLY not limited to Disney. Universal was full of it, too. We got to the Holy Land Experience and almost didn't want to leave its safety.

I looked at your link and other than some kissing and nekkid bums, I don't see anything that looks public.

I know straight couples who have had sexual relations on some of the rides. This looks tame.

It may be tame compared to what goes on in the privacy of the bedroom, but I wouldn't want to expose young children to it.

Of course not. I didn't see any children in any of the photos. That alone, of course, does not make it right.

I think Disney is wrong to promote this, but that is their right as a company. I would certainly stay away during Gay Days, but far be it for me to tell them how to run their business.

Wouldn't it be fun to take the Family and say a 5 year old son and show up there at Disney not knowing that the 'moes had taken over for the weekend (cause Disney didn't let you know that the 'moes were taking over that weekend). And you get to see wonderful educational things like 'Moes crotch grabbing and doing some oral or other types of sex simulation and having all of that go on right in front of your 5 year old son.

I really don't want to explain preverted acts to my 5 year old.
But Hey!
To each thier own I guess.

" ...extreme nudity "

What is this? Does "nudity" really need a qualifier? Isn't this a term like "a little pregnant?" Have we rendered our entire collection of nouns to be nondescript?

nu-di-ty, n., 1. the state or fact of being nude; nakedness.
nude, adj., 1. naked or unclothed. 5. an unclothed human figure.
The Random House College Dictionary - 1978 (old faithful)

People don't misuse the word "nude". You don't go around saying, "My head is nude because I forgot my hat today." Or, "My feet are nude because I like to run around barefoot." Don't we all know what nude is?

Please, can't we preserve our language? So few of us speak it already.

Oh, RB. *sigh* How can you miss it? It is a national news item for days on end before it even takes place. You'd have to live under a rock to not know about Gaydays at Disney.

Well I didn't miss it (except for the first time)
And I appreciate your *sigh* 'cause I do the same.
But it does not detract from the point that Disney is culpable and should warn those that would buy tickets to go to Disney World for the 'moefest weekend.

They aren't.

However, I am prejudiced.

From my profile page:

I am an unrepentant Disney lover.

I know as a FReeper I'm supposed to hate it, but I don't and I won't. Some of the happiest times of my life have been spent with my family at the Magic Kingdom. I've never seen people boinking in the fountains or same-sex couples doing so much as hold hands at Disney. I don't think I've ever heard a cuss-word at Disney. Disney Cast Members have never been anything but kind and good to my daughter.

I think Disney, like everything else, is what you make of it. If you're looking to get mad, I am sure there will be somethng for you to get mad about.

For me, Disney is about the Dumbo ride, and the fireworks and Mickey and seeing my daughter's face light up. I can't wait to go back.

AND as an "Add On"

We once screwed up and went to Disney during "Gay Days". Other than seeing a lot of people in Red T-Shirts, the above post still applies....

When we went, we did not KNOW it was Gay Days.

No boinking, and despite the fact that my husband wore a red T that first day, and so did my daughter's godfather, ( accident. they both grabbed the red onr) No ONE molested, hot on them, or anything!

Nor was there anything bad to be seen!

the ONLY way we found out about "Gay Days" is because I noticed all of the red shirts, asked a Cast Member and got told WHY.

Something to think about. The one guy in the photos had a sign on the back of his shirt, based on the Mastercard commercial. The last line read:

"...the shock, scared looks...priceless."

That tells something right there. "Shocked, scared" looks are what these here's-my-sexual-orientation-in-your-face idiots are looking for. Do you think expect to get it just by wearing red shirts? No, they have - and will continue to - put on a show to get what they are looking for.

You know what, I'm Jewish - I don't think Disney properly recognizes my ethnicity. I feel I must have a parade in my honor. Oh and while this parade is going on, there will be roving bands of rabbis circumsizing everyone in sight and stapling dreadlock-sideburns to everyone's skull.

Excellent rant! :)
