Your comments were spot on, but slightly longer that what he usually reads on the air. I probably would've ended it after this sentence: "Your critics are right - you're starstruck, and just as much a member of the 'Establishment' you pretend to deride."

You're all correct, of course. Being an expert at getting my LTEs published, I've learned to insert a "zinger", and have a good percentage of getting them inked.

I'd have thought that O'Reilly, or his staff, might have at least accepted the Gorelick comment as said zinger, but apparently not.

I wondered about that too.  He's too smart not to correct himself after a stammer as we all do when realized.  He just didn't seem to know.  He usually seems to broadcast the volume of his testicles but in this case with Kerrey he was just plain nervous.  Politics aside, he had met his intellectual 'challenge' match and the result was just  plain ole' talking heads junk.

Bill O'Reilly is a total ass, but I've gotta hand it to him- he makes me think. I really miss watching his show (no access to it here in Japan).
