WHEN I eulogized my son Nick, I said that he was my teacher and my hero. He was the kindest, gentlest man I know -- no, the kindest, gentlest human being I know or have ever known. Did you know that he quit the Boy Scouts of America because they wanted to teach him to fire a handgun? Nick, too, poured into me the strength I needed and still need to tell the world about him.

Sick. I have no pity for him... only a deep, loathing of the man.

That (expletive deleted) is prostituting the memory of his son in support of ideas that his son would have found abhorrent. He is despicable. I loathe him.

That's a LIE!
Boy Scouts are permitted to fire .22-caliber bolt-action, single-shot rifles, air rifles, shotguns, and muzzle-loading long guns under the direction of a certified instructor, 21 years of age or older, within the standards outlined in current Scouting literature and bulletins. BSA policy does not permit the use of handguns in the Boy Scouting program.

This is a pathetic, self-abosrbed, pitifully ignorant little man.

Let's face it Mr. Berg, your son was killed because he was a dumbass. Typical kid of a liberal, he refused the sound advise of authorities, and decided that he was smarter than they....and by this pitiful letter you have written, we know where his dumbassness came from.

Nick, too, poured into me the strength I needed and still need to tell the world about him.
Poor Nick...his Dad is so gay.
To: johnny7
Dad is a lying sick-o but there are things about the whole Berg case that don't quite ring true. Heinous as the beheading was, I can not get too wrapped up in the story.
To: johnny7
Michael, I'm fed up fathers who play out their 15 minutes on their son's death, a death which they most likely had a hand in.

Remember when that scumbag who worked for The Big C; what was his name? Ah yes, Sidney Blumenthal (thanks Google; all it took was a search of the word Drudge coupled with the phrase "wife beating"). Remember when Sid Blumenthal came out of the grand jury hearing and, knowing that the actual proceedings of the hearing were secret, proceeded to lie his *ss off, telling the panting, drooling news media that he had been interrogated about his religious beliefs (among other outrageous things), all of which accusations were eventually shown to be absolute and total lies?
That's what Nick Berg's dear old dad is doing here. Except that, as bad as what Sid Vicious did, this is at a whole new level of pus-ooze scumbaggery.

Are you saying he had his son killed?
To: johnny7
he quit the Boy Scouts of America because they wanted to teach him to fire a handgun? Sounds fishy to me.
Since when does the Boy Scouts force kids to fire handguns?
And what boy would not want to do it?

Of course, Berg Sr. is lying about the Boy Scouts, but if Nick had learned to use a handgun, and had one with him...perhaps there would be a dead terrorist or two and Nick would be alive.

Very inappropriate comment.
But very funny.

Are you saying he had his son killed?
I think it means the father at best instilled in him a bunch of PC Lieberal beliefs in "multi-culturalizm", and moral relativism that could have led him to believe that the Islamic Supremacists aren't bad, just misunderstood. At worst, the father may have advised him to reject the governments offer to fly him to Jordan, or even have been playing footsie with the islamists.
