The German Defense Ministry is investigating rumors about the existence of torture photos involving German peacekeepers in Kosovo.
German mass-selling daily Bild reported on Thursday that photographs depicting torture scenes were circulating in the international KFOR peacekeeping force and that German soldiers were allegedly involved.
The newspaper, however, doesn't have the aforementioned photographs. The defense ministry has refused to comment on the allegations.
Defense expert for the opposition Christian Social Union, Christian Schmidt demanded "a full explanation of the affair without any cover-up" in the Bild. "We owe it to our soldiers and citizens," he said.
On Thursday the German parliament is expected to make a decision on extending the German army's deployment in Kosovo.
At present, there are 3,900 soldiers among the 17,500-strong KFOR contingent in the region.

Just once I'd like to see these politicians spend a week or two guarding these terrorists butt-holes and then show their self-righteous indignation.

The word torture needs to be re-defined.

"They forgot to mention who they tortured"
Right on. If their military is anything like their despicable government, the were quite possibly torturing the anti-muslim prisoners for having the gall to try and protect themselves. But the fact that these soldiers are on the ground there, and can see what is really happening, it might be the other way around. Of course, torture consists of something more significant than making the enemy play naked twister or posing for pictures with a bag on their heads. At least the head with the bag on it was still attached to the torso.

You'll be happy to know then that the Left is already quite busy redefining the word "torture" to mean "anything that offends socialist sensibilities".
