Sen. John F. Kerry (Mass.) announced yesterday that he will formally accept the Democratic presidential nomination at his party's convention in Boston this summer, jettisoning the idea of delaying acceptance to try to narrow a perceived fundraising gap with President Bush.
Less than a week after the unorthodox idea became public -- to decidedly mixed reviews -- Kerry buried consideration of the plan as his campaign weighed other options for the continuation of what has been a record-breaking period of fundraising by a Democratic presidential candidate.

I think its obvious to most Americans the answer to that question is a resounding "no".
This is another vivid example of how "not ready for prime time" Senator Ketchup truly is. The President should be very thankful today his opponent is John Kerry, and not somebody with half a brain.
In effect, what Kerry's actions said was "Its all about the money!" As a Bush supporter, I couldn't have scripted it any better myself.
Gee, smart gambit all the way around, Mr. Kerry. Piss off all your serfs in Boston, forego the extra $75 million, and confirm all characterizations of you as a waffler. Plus, get all kinds of media coverage during your acceptance speech - to show the entire nation what an elitist boor/bore you are.

I detected the launching of a new trial ballon yesterday while listening to NPR. Not sure of the names, but they had on an editor from the WP and one from the NYT. One of these rocket scientists, excuse me NUANCED liberals, offered that it just wasn't fair, and that an exception to the law should be made in this election cycle. Some clap trap about how no one ever anticipated that both parties would apply these same Federal money rules to themselves at the same time.
Then just for good measure they spent about 5 minutes of air time detailing the fact that before the 1930's candidates never accepted the nomination at the convention. The deligates approached the candidate about 5 weeks after the convention.
Let's face it, the Dems sized up the rules and got caught with their pants down on this one. Hasn't this been discussed at length here on FR since the convention dates were fixed? The DNC must be really scared of The Flipper's strength if they can't be happy with having the jump on 527's, plus the lock on the dead and illegal alien votes.
Maybe somebody finally told John Boy that
Hillary would accept in Boston.
