I emailed him about some horrendous episodes he wrote about my own branch of the university. He responded w/a personal email suggesting ways I could counter such undesirable practices.

He's personally answered a couple of emails I sent him. He's a good guy.
I teach college English and I read his column, The "Coronation of the New Queen" (about the new UNC chancellor), to my class. In that article, Prof. Adams uses the phrase, "let them eat cake."
Sadly, about half of my students had no idea what that phrase refers to.
On a lighter note, several students were natives of China and they took the article quite literally, thinking that a queen actually was being coronated at the University of North Carolina, LOL!
