"anal PETA person"

Isn't that redundant?

Okay, so he's not going to vote for Bush because the president has done nothing to better the lives of our furry friends.

So he's going to cast a ballot for the man who voted against the ban on partial birth abortion. Yup, makes perfect sense to me.

"Jesus ate lamb."

He probably doesn't like Jesus either.

"I'm disappointed that the Bush administration has done nothing to improve animals' lives."

Oh what a crock. He feeds his dogs and carries Barney around all the time.

President Bush couldn't show PETA even the least bit of respect. That disappointed me as both an animal-rights activist and a Republican. I want the Republican National Committee to know that I am a Republican - and an animal- rights supporter.

You can be vegetarian and conservative, but PETA and conservatism cannot coexist in the same universe.

To quote from another thread:

"Animal rights activists harass people wearing fur instead of leather because it's a lot safer to throw paint on little old ladies than on bikers."

Vegetarian: old Indian word meaning “bad hunter”.

"I hope someday people will see society's treatment of animals in the same light they do slavery and the Holocaust - as a mistake made by humanity at its worst."

Oh jeez...do we have to pay the animals "reparations" too?

dunno...if he's catholic, does he take communion and "eat of his body?"

something for "vegetarians" to ponder...

This is from Dave, the writer of the letter to the editor who has been thoroughly bashed in so many posts on this site. I want to thank you. Your posts ensured me of two things: first, that some people actually read my letter and second, that I am smarter than most people who post on freerepublic.com.

A couple of points:

1. People say that because I ask the GOP to live up to the ideals of being pro-life and anti-slavery that I am somehow equating African-Americans and babies between the age of conception and 9 months to animals. I'm not. People, to me, are more important than animals. However, I believe that fact doesn't give us the right to kill animals for sport or food or clothing. And please don't use the "survival of the fittest" or "circle of life" arguments because those went out the window when Man learned to farm.

2. I don't hate Jesus. In fact, I'm a fan of Jesus. I especially like his quote "What you do to the least of my brethren, you do unto me." For all the Christians out there, I have a question: Do you really think Jesus would approve of the way we treat animals? If you're honest, I think the answer is obvious.

3. I have a pretty good working knowledge of the Bible, and I don't recall a passage in which it specifically states that Jesus ate meat. Please point me to the correct book, chapter, and verse. Also please note that I am not a fundamentalist Christian, so I believe that the "Jesus as Fisherman" stories are the writers' way of saying Jesus was gathering and expanding his flock. If you're a fundamentalist Christian, please debate with me only after you explain how Jonah could live inside of a whale for a year.

4. I can point you to Genesis, which states that God told Adam and Eve that he had given them all the necessary fruits, plants, and grains they will need to survive. God also granted Adam and Eve "dominion" over His animal creations. Linguistics scholars will agree that during the time in which the Bible was written, "Dominion" meant "to care for." I don't remember God saying anything about giving humans the right to slaughter 9 billion animals a year.

5. I'm not voting for John Kerry. I think I clearly stated that in my letter, but a couple of posters seemed confused about that point. I understand and forgive you. I won't hunt and eat you because you're less intelligent than me.

6. I don't know what Chris P. Carrot's views are on abortion and tax reform. As I mentioned, my vote for Chris P. Carrot is a "protest" vote. I'm not so much voting for the character as I am making a statement about an issue I care about. Once again, I understand that it's tough for some of you to read AND COMPREHEND a short letter. And once again, just because you are less intelligent than I am and you don't have the ability to reason, I won't hunt you and eat you or use your skin for a nice new jacket.

7. I bet that most people who post on this site are pro-life just like me, yes? Well, isn't being pro-life all about protecting the innocent? Do you not see the parallel when it comes to protecting innocent living beings? I think all right-thinking ("right" meaning "correct" in this instance) people will agree that we don't HAVE to kill animals to survive. So why kill?

That's about it for now. Please feel free to continue ripping me. It's a lot of fun for me and I don't take it to heart. Most times, I'm the conservative bashing the liberal, so this is a nice switch for me.

Sincerely,
Dave

President Bush couldn't show PETA even the least bit of respect

This article should be listed under humor. To think that a conservative Republican would be upset that the President didn't show "respect" to PETA, when PETA doesn't show respect to anyone, is ridiculous.

This is too transparent, and very funny.

I wonder if this idiot knows ANYTHING ABOUT PETA and their real agenda??? For once I would like these simple minded fools to do a little research on the REAL PETA...right, like that will ever happen.

How did you miss the Biblical commands to sacrifice animals to the Lord??

And Jonah was in the belly of the whale for three DAYS. Not that God couldn't sustain him for a year if that was His desire.
