I'm hoping Malone and GP get their rings, but it will be interesting to see what the refs do this series.

Refs still owe Detroit for the phantom foul in 1988's game 6.

I was noticing on TNT that Maj has "beefed up" a bit. He must be sampling the popcorn in the many theatres he owns. Nice shorts too. Worthy's goggles in the background are a blast from the past also.

Frankly, I couldn't care less about this post-season.

You don't really mean that?  Romancing the good ole' days makes us appreciate the days we have in front of us.

Nope, it won't. Those teams had personality. Nasty and vicious. The present ones don't. I'll always remember Chuck Daly, sitting on the bench, always miserable, even when he was kicking the other team's @$$. Who could blame him? He had to deal with Laimbeer, Thomas, Rodman, Salley, Aguirre, and other impossible egos, anchored by reasonable people like Vinny Johnson, and make them all into winners. LOL. Doesn't seem like that any more, anyways.

Charles Barkley is a riot on TNT's Pre/Half/Post game show.

The greatest team of all time.

Not whining.

The better team won, and the Lakers deserve to go on to the finals.

Fact remains, the officiating sucked to the point of embarrassment.

I thought the post game segment with Shaq the other night was great. The clip of Barkley hitting Shaq in the head with the ball and the Chuck closing his eyes as Shaq took a retaliation swing at him.

Nice shorts too.

Back in the days when 'shorts' were just that. .....not sweat pants cut in half.

Magic is fast closing in on Shaq territory (as far as poundage is concerned). I'd put him at around 300 - 310 right now.

The anchors of that team were Laimbeer and Thomas, they were team first, win first all the way, no me first ego problem from either of them. That's why Rodman and Aguirre were rarely ever a problem in Detroit, because they knew that Laimbeer and Thomas wouldn't tolerate it.

The late 80's Celts/Pistons matchups were among the best eastern conference rivalries I've ever seen. .....Right up there with the early 80's Celts/Sixers and the early 70's Celts/Knicks.

Barkley telling off the jet for being late to Staples for the start of the pre-game show for game 3 after being stuck in traffic behind an accident on the freeway.....

Barkley: I have to travel 3,000 miles to get here, and I'm able to get here on time, while you, who lives here, shows up late!

lol!

Here's hoping the Pistons light it up one night and score 70.
