Sorry but Barbour simply cant win the Presidency. His appearance, demeanor and fact that he is from Mississippi would kill him...especially with the "oh no what if deep down he is a racist" crowd.

Sorry but he smacks of the racial profile of a rich white boy racist from the south....especially with that helmet hair thing he's got going on. I am not saying he is a racist. I dont believe he is but perception in politics is half the battle. The vibe you give off when you are just standing there in front of the cameras not saying a word has a tremedous impact.

People might not want to see it but it's true. A Republican/lobbyist from Mississippi? Yeah, hold your breath.

get Condi,

What does she stand for? What is her stand on all the issues? Bigger government? Smaller government? Abortion? 2nd Amendment? CFR? Federal involvement in education? Social Security? Tax reform? Medicare intitlements? Border control? Immigrantion? Trade?

Unless anyone knows where any potential candidate stands on all those issues and many more, how can they recommend them?

Tom DeLay is the most hated man in DC.

Could you expand on that a bit? I'm a fan of Tom's.

"Don't know if Condi supports abortion on demand. If she does, then NO Condi."

No to Condi. She's called herself a "pro-choice evangelical."

Haley Barbour Jeb Bush Bill Frist Rudy Giuliani Bill Owens George Pataki Rick Perry Colin Powell Condoleezza Rice Mitt Romney John McCain, (also periodically touted as a Democratic or independent or third party possibility)

A who's who of big government centrists. They might as well be Dems.

You have slammed Haley Barbour
and Mississippi quite enough.

As Sybeck pointed out, what you're
saying about Mississippi used to be
said about Arkansas.

There's nothing racist about him
and you're the only one who's mentioned
that.

His "vibes" worked pretty well when he
was all over TV during his successful stint
as RNC chairman. Haley is decent, honest,
smart, educated, sincere, and a good
father, husband and Christian.
The fact that he's a millionaire seems
to burn you. He EARNED it. He came
from poor beginnings, raised by his widowed mama.

At least I am not the one advocating that big-government gun grabbers, abortion supporters, and foreign born goofballs be pushed to run for President.

And neither am I.

Nor am I a 20 year old political infant criticizing conservatives who have been conservatives longer than I have been alive.

But who's counting.

Have a nice day.

I am glad you agree. Do you think he should be the 2004 V.P. candidate, to clinch PA and have a groomed successor?

As everyone who's read my posts knows, I think VP Cheney has been very valuable to President Bush over the past 4 years, especially during the '00 debates and whole election cycle... He could still be a very valuable advisor...

As a VP on the '04 , I've grown increasingly delusional with his performance in terms of actively supporting President Bush. He, along with Frist and Hastert, have been practivally mute in the face of an avalanche of attacks against our President. Reading a speech every couple of months, then going back into hiding for the next couple doesn't cut it.

That being said, I think Santorum is fine in the Senate for now... Another four years will give him a little more maturity, a little more "gravitas"... Rice would be really good, I'd support her, with some reservations.

His "vibes" worked pretty well when he was all over TV during his successful stint as RNC chairman.

Where have you been? Barbour campaigned for and supported those right-wing-extremist-radicals like Newt Gingrich in 1994. Does anyone really think the American people are conservative enough to elect a bunch of anti-government extermists to Congress, let alone return them to office for 10 years straight?

After all, in order to be "electable", you have to support big government, abortion, and gun control.

/sarcasm

On a more serious note, what are your thoughts on Mark Sanford, governor of South Carolina, running in 2008? He was elected in Congress in 1994 and has a very good voting record. He comes across as being very honest with firm convictions, and he is planning to totally phase out the SC income tax over the next 10-15 years.

George Pataki

No ¥Û©¶Ïñ§ Way!!!!

Pataki is by far the most liberal govenor in the country. Compared to him even Grey Davis looks like Jesse Helms.

If he's our candidate I will do something I've never done and vote for the Democrat because no matter who it is (even Hillary) the Democrat would be by far the more Conservative candidate

I've grown increasingly delusional...

Appreciate your comments. And, uh, er, I think you meant disillusioned.

Cheney can stay on in an important capacity, such as a cabinet post or chief of staff. Bush needs a V.P. candidate who can carry an electoral vote rich state, and the Republican banner in 2008. Santorum does both, Cheney neither.

LOL! I like your style. :)

Please tell me more about Governor Sanford.
Can you post a photo of him? He sounds GOOD.
You know, I am partial to Southerners. :)
The fact is, it's the South that's saving
the Union from the democrats. How sweet is that?
